I really suggest using the xbox guide button on this exercise as well. The reason why is because as you progress through the game, it actually gets harder, meaning the mice show up for shorter periods of time, more of them pop up at the same time, and the game likes to throw more spiked dudes at you to confuse you.

In terms of using the guide button, you will really need to be hitting it about every second (sometimes faster if you are paranoid like me). Ideally you want to catch mice that are halfway out of the pipe so you can get them right away. Already put your hands/feet in position before you unpause, whack, and then pause again. The hardest part of this game is really when there are two mice upper left or upper right that will require you to smack both with only one hand. I put my hand in position on the uppermost mouse, and started swinging down almost immediately to hit the next one. Not doing this caused me to come short a couple of times.

By my third try I finally got the pausing/unpausing down pat, but I was so paranoid about not having enough mice, and I had not bothered counting my hits, that I kept going to make absolutely sure I had gotten to 100. Well lo and behold, using the method above, by the time I gave up I had 229 whacks. I guess I overdid it on that one...

Note that you can keep the controller in your hand the whole time you are doing this to speed things up.
