This achievement is like Poker. It's half luck, half skill.

You can play a perfect round in Arcade and not hit 500, if the game doens't launch the fruit favourable. So if you fail, don't give up.

Some times I was hitting over 500 with a great game, sometimes I was hitting 300. A lot is luck, so keep trying.

Arcade mode is quite frantic, and (once again based on luck), the appearance of the three powerups will help you get your score.

On my first 500 run I got all three powerups within the first 10 seconds, and had 300 points within the first 15 seconds. It's luck.

Utilise your powerups - freeze, double points and frenzy.

Make sure you hit the combos (especially during frenzy you can hit some pretty high ones). Combos are how you will score high on this round, make sure to hit as many fruits with one slice as you can.

Another important note, is do not hit the bombs. They remove 10 points from your total, and remove all fruits from the screen costing you a lot of points and time. At the end of the round, you'll also get a bonus for hitting no bombs.

At the end of the round, a big shiny fruit will come on screen. Hit it. You then get like a super finisher. Hit that fruit as many times as you can. My best was 73. That score is then added to your score. So i you have 400 at the end, you can easily make that 450-460. Then plus the bonuses can take you over 500, so never give up.

KamendaeOne thing - if you don't hit any bombs, you get a +10 bonus at the end of the round. If you hit three or more, however, you get a +50 bonus at the end of the round ("Bomb Lover"). Your best bet is therefore to hit exactly three bombs, *after* clearing the screen of all other on-screen fruit, for a net gain of +20 instead of the no-bomb's +10.

Mountain DewKamendae, the problem with that theory is that when you set off a bomb it also takes a small amount of time for the game to 'reset' so to speak & start popping fruit up again. That whole time the clock is ticking.

You're better off with not missing any fruit (50 straight up) hitting your 7 or 8 fruit combo, and having hitting either an even hundred mark or 3 matching digits.

It's tricky to work all that out but usually when you get a good run going like all 3 powerups coming in close to each other you can usually slow down at the end and try to make it work to hit the last point of even hundred or 3 matching.

    angelp1ayJust got this with a score of 640 !

Miles better than my previous rounds. I got freeze, another freeze + frenzy, another frenzy + double points.

Totally agree with missing the bombs - I was getting lots of bonuses for "ultimate combo frenzy" (or something like that). You lose your run if you hit a bomb and as Mountain Dew says, it wastes a ton of time "resetting".

ZymoticWhat's a good way to do the combo at the end? I mean, how should I be moving my hands? If I could consistently get 60+ then I would break 500 every other game.

LeiChatTotally agree on the random thing.
The educamated achievement popped, then on my next game (having for the last 4/5 only scored early 400s), I got the three powerups in a row achievement right at the start and as the author said was on 300+ with lots of time left. Hit 708 total with only 60 something on the super fruit. The end bonuses were great due to lots of combos within the three powerup phase.

LavindatharGot to disagree with Kamedae, hitting bombs is a big no no for this.

xMARCxAwesome guide, thank you. FYI - that big, shiny fruit at the end is a pomegranate.
