If you have a USB Drive or Memory Card, you can backup your Third Strike Save to it. If you lose a match in ranked, you can go to Memory under System Settings and copy that save to your hard drive (overwriting the old save) in order to keep your streak going.

This way, you don't have to worry about messing people up who are going for legitimate wins.

JaggexedgeGreat guide, I was able to do this achievement in no time at all. Also to note, if someone ends up disconnecting mid-match, you will get the win toward your streak.

pedgzas of today, this technique still works.
special note in case this happens to you: my fourth online win left me with a frozen screen (the one with the grade) after the match. i never got to save the replay and return to the main menu and exit to the system settings properly 'coz of it. i took the chance of copying the save file to a second, separate memory card and hoped my next win was the last one. fortunately, it was and the cheev popped. only drawback was i didn't have a replay of my 4th win (which was my guide in making sure the save files were copied and pasted right). so i've come to the conclusion that even with a freeze, the game saves as early as when the screen says "you win" and it counts as a win.

Just AmazNNice!! This method is the same method used for the 'Outstanding!' achievement in Mortal Kombat (retail).

For this achievement you must obtain a 5 win streak in ranked match, this is by far the hardest achievement to get in the game. There are plenty of good players online but if you follow these tips then this achievement will be easier then you think.

    - Ken, Ryu, Akuma, and Chun-Li, are by far the easiest characters to use in the game. All of them have easy hit confirms into their supers, they have easy high damaging basic combos, and they all can play a pretty good zoning game seeing they all have a fireball.

    - When it comes to choosing your super you should pick (III) Shippu Jinraikyaku for Ken, (I) Shinku-Hadouken for Ryu, (I) Messatsu Gou Hadou for Akuma and (II) Houyoku Sen for Chun-Li. All of these super arts can be hit confirmed with crouching medium kick. So if you have the meter and have an opportunity to punish your opponent, do crouching medium kick into super.

    - If you take a life lead, back off and make your opponent come to you. Throw fireballs, bait jump ins then anti air with a Shoryuken or a EX Spinning Bird Kick. Don't get to cocky though with your fireballs as many characters have ways around them. Go on the offensive when you know you'll be able to do big damage.

    - Don't try and parry everything you see, trust me parrying is a high level skill that takes time to work into your style. So my advice is to just block.

    - If your opponent keeps blocking your advances then try and throw them. If it works you'll get a knockdown which could lead into a high damaging mix up.

Follow these tips and you should get this achievement really quick because trust me boosting in this game is going to be near impossible seeing that SF III is really popular and will always have a strong community playing it. Also here are links for basic combos and strategies for the characters I mentioned.

NodifloNice guide but you forgot the most important information :)

In order to get the achievement you need a 5 win streak in the ranked mode.

OD StarwinPretty sure that is self explanatory seeing it tells you what to do in the game but I guess for the sake of others I'll edit the guide.

ShinUkyoGreat guide, and good to see some extensive info from a real fighting game fan. And even despite it being detailed, you worded it to where even a casual fan could understand it fairly easily. Very well-deserved up-vote from me! ^_^

No offense to the other posters, but if you just want the achievement there is a much less involved way of doing so. With a boosting partner, just search for each other via ranked match until you find each other (if you get matched with someone else just hit back before the match starts). I've gone through this process 3 times and it's never taken me longer than 10 minutes to get this achievement done.

o ValkyrjaI realize that this is an achievement site, but some gamers prefer the challenge of legitimacy. To say there is "no reason" is frankly a little off-putting. It's up to the gamer to decide how they want to achieve.

    Still, good suggestion. :)

WeltallAYThat is true, I didn't mean to come off as rude and of course legitimacy is a more admirable approach. I was just trying to convey that if you just want the achievement it is not necessary to be as in depth as other ideas here have suggested. I will edit it to be more friendly headspin
