So at the start of the second checkpoint of chapter 14 is a great place to farm this achievement. As soon as you spawn in to your right behind a barrier is the Auto Cannon, just pick it up and start mowing dudes down.

EarthboundXWow, noticing that Autocannon was there probably would have helped on Hard Mode...

Exotic weapons are the stationary, emplaced weapons occasionally encountered throughout the game (i.e. Heavy Bolter, Plasma Cannon, and Auto Cannon).

These weapons can be fired from their mounts by pressing (B) and can be ripped free by pressing (X).
Get 250 Kills with these weapons to unlock the achievement.

    ********* Spoiler Below *********

The best place I've found to achieve this is in Chapter 13.
You'll encounter a psyker who opens a Warp Gate and summons an infinite number of Traitor Guardsmen.
In the same room with the psyker is an emplaced Heavy Bolter. Rip the Bolter off the mount and you should have 300 rounds to kill the Traitor Guard.
Stand behind one of the tall pipe/pillars in the room in such a way that you can see the gate where the Traitor Guard spawn and the psyker can't hit you with lightning.
It only takes one round to kill a Traitor Guard and they spawn about every second or so. If you're light on the trigger, you'll have plenty of ammo to reach 250 kills for the achievement.
If you don't get it on the first try, just reload the checkpoint and repeat as this will not erase your kill total.

BrumtownManglerThere is also section in the Chapter "Against All Odds" where you will come across a heavy bolter emplacement. As you pick it up about 30 enemies will spawn right infront of you in the open... *DAKKA DAKKA DAKKA*

This is right before you pick up the Stalker Bolter for the first time

eHeadachesYep, good solution :-) Just to mention load from the chapter start, It may be obvious but when I saw this solution I was hoping that I wouldn't have to play through to find that this part was at the end of the chapter, As you state grab the heavy bolter and blast the guards that are already there, I found a sweet spot on the right hand side facing the Psyker where he was just shooting at my team mates leaving me to snipe out the guards as they spawned one by one every 4-5 seconds, counting the kills that I had clocked up from campaign playing this took me less than five minutes, Great solution, +1

After reaching the Command Bunker in Chapter 2, head down the path toward your next objective. Part of the way down this path, there is a mounted heavy bolter. Press B to jump on it and start mowing down the Ork, careful not to kill them all just yet. Reload checkpoint until you get the achievement.

After getting the achievement, the choice is yours to finish off the Ork here and move on ... or you can reload the checkpoint and work on
