This achievement is gained once you perform well for a season and are in the last year of your contract.

After the rookie showcase you'll automatically get a 2-year deal with a team option. So either way you choose to go you'll have to play at least 2 seasons, and with key games plus playoffs I'd guess around 35 games, to get a new contract.

If you perform poorly in your 2nd year the team won't use the team option on you, which is where the team decides whether or not to keep you on for a third year, however if you do perform poorly just to get out of the option, other teams in the league will look at it the same way and you won't get a contract.

So, aim for 3 seasons, and make sure your 3rd season is the best. By the 3rd season I was 86 overall PF so I was one of the best in the league which meant I would get more money anyway and I played my fair share of games not just key games so that LeBron wouldn't get the MVP again...

Once the third season was up I was a free agent, you have a choice of certain teams that are interested in you, plus your original team. Choose the team you wish and you'll see their offer straight up and length. If it is over 10M your good to go. If it is 9M that's fine, you'll just have to ask for more money, ask a couple of times. (You'll probably have no idea what I'm talking about here but by the time you get to negotiating you will) If it doesn't go up to 10M or they get annoyed and decide not to sign you, it's not the end of the world. You won't be able to play with that team, but you can move on to the next team that is willing to get you.

If your first offer is around 8M you'll have a tough time getting it to 10M. On the 10.2M offer I received I was only able to get it up to 11.1M before they said enough was enough. If you're at 9M it's possible maybe not with one team, but one team should let you raise it up. If you're at're going to have to go for the shortest contract and play it all out again.

Good luck!
