Here are the first places I found to do each of these things:

Cooking - In Riverwood, in Alvor's house. There are plenty of ingredients around his house also that you can freely take

Woodchopping - In Riverwood, it's pretty hard to miss the huge pile of logs. There's a Woodcutter's Axe on a table nearby.

Mining - Halted Stream Camp is just to the north of the city of Whiterun. The inside of the camp is a mine, with a pickaxe and iron ore veins just past the entrance. In Whiterun, join the Companions (easy to do, 10G for that itself). Farkas may give you a quest to clear out the Halted Stream Camp. There's also a Redguard in town who will give you a quest "Find Amren's Family Sword" if you don't feel like joining the Companions, or want to be efficient.

There is also woodcutting at Halted Stream Camp, if you missed it in Riverwood.

(The rest of Halted Stream Camp might be a little too tough for low levels though, just as a warning)

XxjdooksxXThere's also a woodcutting block inside halted stream camp, just through the gate before entering the mine.

Follow these guidelines to obtain this achievement within the first half hour.

After escaping Helgen, you'll soon encounter your first 3 standing stones. Continue on to Riverwood and you'll notice a hammer and pickaxe icon on your compass, go there (but not inside just yet) so you can fast travel later on to this mine, 'Emberstream Mine'
Resume your first quest and after talking to Gerdur, you'll find yourself inside their house, free to take the food.

    - Cooking: Pick up a leek, potato, cabbage and tomato (tomatoes are found in the house inside a barrel) Go to the cooking pot at the fire to create vegetable soup.

    - Woodchopping: Go outside and head back to the spot where you first met Gerdur. You'll find both a woodcutter's axe and a chopping block in the vicinity.

    - Mining: When you're done with chopping wood, head to the blacksmith and buy a pickaxe. Fast travel to the Emberstream Mine I told you to discover earlier and this time, head inside. Not too far in, the place isn't big anyway, you'll notice some big logs on your left side. An iron vein is directly right of those logs and directly left of the doorway you would take to continue, against the wall.
Mine it to receive iron ore and the achievement.

MitoticActivityAgree with Andean, mining directions are not clear at all. Once you enter the mine follow the path and go across the bridge. Take a right down the ramp at the end of the bridge and the vein is to the right of the campfire and a pile of logs along the north wall.

Robster80I can;t seem to buy a pickaxe - nobody is selling one, not even the blacksmith or his wife.

Robster80Also the tomatoes are not in the barrel - I think the items randomize, so I instead made Cabbage Potato soup
