This HAS to be done on a Defiant map. Furthermore, this can obviously not be a multi-flag game type. For those who don't know, the Defiant maps are Highlands and Condemned and any of their variants (e.g. Uplink). The opposing team cannot even pick the flag up for this achievement to pop.

Update: When boosting, it is highly recommend neither team touch either flag for this to unlock. Several players have reported even though their flag was not touched the achievement did not pop because they were able to grab the opposing teams flag.

MAKE SURE you are on a Defiant map. If you are having issues getting defiant maps remember that everyone in a lobby has the have that map pack in order to even have those maps come up. I'd suggest going to DLC specific playlists to have a higher chance of getting Defiant maps.

Lastly, you need to have the Anniversary pack, whether it is by purchasing Halo CE: Anniversary or purchasing the stand alone Anniversary Pack.

Update: For boosting purposes it is best to have someone remove the Noble Map Pack so that the only maps offered are Defiant and Anniversary. Team Objective is your best bet to get a 1 flag CTF game on a Defiant map.

Update to the update: Premium battle has been removed as of 12/5 so Team Objective is probably the best bet.

Update mark III: It looks like there are more playlist changes coming for January 2012.

Not sure if this will change the odds of finding Condemned or not, but they go live 1/10/12.

LEGENDXKILLAI just unlocked this by double boxing with 3 guests on each console.

100% never grab the flag. Just wait out the 4x 3 minute rounds. I killed the opposing team during the rounds, just never went near the flag at all.

This guide works as of (April 4th, 2016) and takes the updates and playlist changes into consideration

(THIS IS A BOOSTING GUIDE) - Because this can only be boosted to be honest.

(WARNING) - You can get a CT ban for 2 days or 2 weeks for Idle controllers or not getting a single kill. I suggest all players have the (Make It Rain) achievement so CT bans won't matter.

(PLAYER REQUIRED) (10 players) or (3 with multiple controllers)

(DLC/DOWNLOADABLE CONTENT NEEDED) Defiant Map Pack and Anniversary Map Pack

    (PLAYLIST) ~Team Objective~

    (GUIDE)
(Step 1) First you have one player preferably a guy with the least controllers DELETE Noble and Anniversary Map Pack. EVERYONE ELSE MUST HAVE *Defiant Map Pack and Anniversary Map Pack Downloaded* to get this Achievement.

(Step 2) Everyone group up and pick ~Team objective~ playlist having 10 spots filled means no randoms.

(Step 3) Pick 'TU 1 FLAG CTF' on *Condemned Map* or 'TU 1 FLAG PRO' on *Condemned Map* when they show up. If they don't show up vote to skip maps, If it still don't show up play any map then after the game ends you get a chance to pick a map again repeat until you find the maps. IT DOES WORK ON BOTH MAPS.

(Step 4) This may not seem important but it is. Instruct everyone to not move much or even don't move at all do not cross the map DO NOT GO NEAR THE ENEMY FLAG AT ALL to be honest i would have NO ONE MOVE FAR AT ALL Just move around a little in the area you spawn so you don't go idle and get kicked.

***(EXTRA)-(EDITED) A gamer with the tag - MR PER0 on (June 28, 2014) said the person who deleted the map pack got the achievement as well as everyone else. I did not see this myself so if that happens for you ***Ignore*** ALL EXTRAS Steps below.***

(EXTRA) Step 1 to Step 4 should take less then half a hour unless your very unlucky. I got 'TU 1 FLAG PRO' on *Condemned map* first try without voting and the 2nd time we voted one map, Played one game then 'TU 1 FLAG CTF' on *Condemned Map* showed up. 4 out of 6 of the maps were *Condemned Map*

(Step 5) Have the guy that didn't get the achievement Re-Download Anniversary Map Pack other players take a break or try to get other achievements as you wait. someone else will have to DELETE Anniversary then Repeat (Step 1) through (Step 4)

(EXTRA) If this guide is followed exactly (Step 1) through (Step 5) meaning all players have the Achievement, Should take 1 hour to 2 hours depending on your luck and how long it takes to Re-Download Anniversary Map Pack.

(EXTRA) If you have a friend or someone willing to help that doesn't need the Achievement join your lobby with only the Defiant DLC downloaded 9 people can get this Achievement in about 20 minutes.

LuminousOrdoits not as easy as just playing it, just cuz it was that easy for you doesn't mean it's that easy all the time when i did it it didn't give us the right maps for like 2 hours until we deleted map packs like the guide says, if it does work that easily for you that great but i've helped a bunch of people do it and it wasn't that easy.

Blue RadiumMy team was able to get this without Anniversary installed. We had to wait until the end of the game, after all 4 rounds, for our achievements to pop. Take with a grain of salt, just wanted to point out it's technically possible, if our run wasn't a fluke.

I'm going to add my own take here as the comments are pretty full on the first solution. It seems to me that the main thing is that "touching" the flag is not "grabbing" the flag. When I got the achievement we had our flag grabbed and even captured the first round. We scored both rounds. However on the second round defending all but two of their players quit out. They didn't come anywhere near the flag and the achievement popped at the end of the round which was also the end of the game.

Based on this experience I would say one round is enough but they cannot touch the flag at all. That means that even if you kill someone and a dead body of the other team falls upon the flag this can mess it up, which might explain all the talk of glitches. I spent probably over a day worth of playtime getting the map and finally on the 4th try as I only got a defiant map that many times, I got the achievement.

If you aren't boosting you'll have to be worlds better than your competition and very careful. If you are boosting play it safe and if you are going to be fighting to pass the time stay out of the flag room entirely while doing so. Hope this helps and I wish you all luck with this pain in the butt achievement.
