Every 20 levels (20, 40 and so on) you´ll be challenged by a special opponent who´s usually stronger than the ones you´re fighting. You can quicksave via LB (default setting) and then select one of the listed items after you´ve won.

IMPORTANT: Let´s say you have a lvl1 and 3 version of a skill and only need the lvl2 version of said skill. In this case you have to equip the lvl1 skill because the game will not give you a lower ranked skill than the one you have equiped! Consider this because it´ll save you a lot of trouble in the long run.

Since there are a few skills that are rare to find, you should look out for the following skills and grab them as soon as you can:

Turn Unlimited
Burst Control LV3
Lifesteal LV3
Regeneration LV3
Victory Rush LV3
Destruction Drive

Keep in mind that it´s no problem to lose a battle because of a skill change because you will get all the new skills you aquired during your current run. Only the money you´ve earned will be placed at the current stage you lost at (but you can earn it back when you play the same mode again and beat said stage).

The character-specific items are obtained by playing trough Abyss mode once with each character. You may want to do this in the 100 level Abyss mode. Purchase Depht+90 and at least +5 to all the character´s skills and you should be fine. This way you start at lvl 90 and only have to beat 2 opponents and the boss. Should take you a maximum of 5 minutes for each character depending on the equipped skills.

Lvl1 skills will be obtained during the first 500 lvl of Abyss and even later on, you´ll get the chance to grab them. Lvl2 skills are at around 600-900 and lvl3 skills will mostly be obtained after reaching lvl 800.

Now for the item grinding method:

I used Ragna without Stylish/Beginners Mode. You´re free to use it, it´ll also work. You´re basic goal is to finish the lvl 999 Abyss mode at least once and get a few skills and decent amount of money. Getting the following skills and at least 100 000$ really saves a lot of time:

A.I. Reduction (any level)
Maze Walker lvl.2/3
Turn Unlimited

Depth+190
Depth+290
Depth+390

Also increase your stats to at least 35 each if you don´t have Turn Unlimited. Max them out if you don´t have A.I. Reduction. You should then equip Life Steal lvl.2 (gained from Unlimited Ragna at lvl 666).

You´ll be launched at lvl 870 and therefore save yourself a lot of time. Your basic goal is to get 100 heat (special bar in the nottom of the screen) and hit your opponent with an Astral Heat. You´re free to use Blood Kain combos and such but I want to keep it really simple here.

Your basic combo with Ragna is B C D (both hits) 214A 214D

Once the opponent is down to around 30 percent life (orange life bar), input 2141236C. You´ll land this most of the time if you run into an opponent and wait a slight moment for them to attack. Since you have a large invincibility window during your astral, they´ll try to attack you and fall for it. The Astral itself you net you around 5-7 levels depending on your Maze Walker skill level.

You can almost start every round with a normal standing C attack and then just input Hell´s Fang (214A 214D). If you´re opponent is trying to pressure you, free yourself with 623C 214C 214D.

You´ll have 6 chances for rare and high level skills: 880, 900, 920, 940, 980 and 999 (960 does not have a special opponent). All you just going to do is defeating your opponent and then press LB for a quicksave. Wait for the skill selection menu to pop up and look if you need any of the items. If not, simply hit the guide button and exit back to your dashboard. Reload your save file and continue. Just make sure that you don´t start a new Abyss mode because it will reset your current quicksave if you go beyond the character selection screen.

The places I found to be the best ones to grind are lvl 900, 980 (Hazama) and 999 (Mu). It may take you a few tries sometimes but you´ll get some really good skills from these stages if you´re patient enough. Obviously, you´ll get many new skills during your first runs. If you find yourself not getting any new skills, just keep going on and go for another run. The items rewards are completely random you it´s really based on luck. I got my last skill (Beserker lvl2) after around 2,5 hours.

If you see one of the rare skills, grab them no matter what. Even if you lose the following battle, the skills are added to the shop and you´ll get plenty of chances to get the Depht/Status items. Just remember to quicksave many times and exist to the dashboard if there´s nothing that catches your eye.

I hope this guide will lower the time and frustration needed for you to get the achievement. If there´re any questions left, feel free to ask. It´s been quite a while since I got this anyway :P

Many thanks for reading and good luck!
