Firstly i suggest you playthrough the game the 3-4 times and save this for last. Do Normal, Mortal Gauge on Easy, Blind Master on Easy or Normal. Finally play Hard with the Obliterator Gauge which makes you mostly immortal (Black Asura can still kill you). You'll have maybe 4-5 S Ranks left on Hard, do anything you havn't got an A on and a few more on Normal.

So your left with just S Rank on Normal and Hard left as they don't stack, plus Enlightenment. Go through all the levels in normal and get S Rank, if you need both S Ranks, then play Normal followed straight away by Hard.

Time - Equip the Obliterator Gauge and time won't be a factor except in certain levels which will require you fight a little more even with Burst ready to activate.
Battle Points - Undoubtedly this is what is stopping you getting S Rank. A lot of levels, usually involving a boss or Elephants will require you to fight a little more, even if Burst is ready to activate. If your struggling, do 1 more combo on the boss followed by a special or counter. Usually you'll only need a few hundred to go from B to A.
Synchronization - You must be mostly perfect with these, after playing through the game 4 times you'll have a great understanding of when they appear and how to hit them. Perfect is what you want, but getting a Great won't effect your Rank too much. What will is Good or OK, these will mess you up. Your percentage is also based on all QTE's, so don't miss those simple UP's or rapid B's, try and get everything right.

Aerial Missions - Use X all the time and sweep and release with Y. You get 1 point for 1 hit with X and 20 for a hit with Y. Those 1 pointers add up though, so do it!
Ground Missions - Dash Attacks (Hold B) and Jump Attacks (Jump+Hold B) are where you points are. This is the combo i used repeatadly; Jump Attack, Dash Attack, Small Combo (3-5 B's), Special Attack (Y on Ground).
Elephants and Bosses - If your struggling for Battle Points on any of these then after Burst appears, do 1 more combo resulting in a Special Attack (Y).
Turtles - After you Counter you'll be behind the turtle with a Special Attack at the front. If your locked on, jump to the side of the Turtle and do an Air Attack, this will teleport you right next to the head to do the Special. Infact the Aerial Attack's homing function is great for covering any long distances between you and an enemy.
Getting Hit - Counters are big points and you'll also get points for Aerial Recoveries. So if you get hit, Tap A quickly for a nice 20points.

1 - Hold X and Sweep like a madman, firing off Y. At the very end there are 3 Synch Attacks that happen really quickly, don't forget this.
2 - 40 seconds of gameplay, use the combo and get plenty of Special Attacks in. If this fails, try using lots of Heavy Attacks (Y).
3-5 - These all should be very simple S Ranks. On Ch.3 when given the option of the Tutorial do not skip it, if you do you will only get D in Battle Points.
6 - Do one more combo ending in a Special Attack after Burst appears both times. It's likely you'll get A on either Time or Battle Points, meaning you NEED S on Synch. Very Hard to get S on all 3.
7 - Fight the Gorillas at the start a few more times after Burst appears, knock them over then use Special Attacks, Y to Counter. Using the Obliterator Gauge you can stand infront of the Elephant and Jump and use a Heavy Attack (Y), after the first Burst appears keep doing this until you get another Counter Opportunity. On the 2nd Burst, just activate it straight away. You will lose Synch points if you miss the UP whilst climbing the pole.
8 - Defeat all the Gorillas at the start and make quick work when chasing the one running away, Shoot it to make it come towards you then combo with B. Go to work at the end, use the combo and you won't need to fight past Burst.
9 - Nice easy level, if you skipping scenes then some of the Synch's and QTE's appear right away. On the shooting start from the outer edges and get those kills first.
10 - Stand Up gets you the most bar at the start, just do this 4 times. Don't avoid killing anything, finish everything off. If the Turtle at the end spawns a Rhino, kill that too. Because the Turtle's take so long to kill you shouldn't struggle for Battle Points.
11 - I had an A on Normal for this, but when i went back with Obliterator i got S straight away. Use Jump + Hold B to zoom to the target. The final rotation after you break the sword is anti-clockwise.
12 - Should be very simple. When firing, remember to always hold X and sweep and fire with Y. Shoot the rockets before they hit you.
13 - Quite a long level but Yasha is a beast, so you shouldn't have any trouble. Just be careful of the QTE's especially against the big 1-wheel bikes, remember to destroy all the ships too.
14- Quite difficult, the Piranha you have to burst against at the start can kill you quickly even with Obliterator. Concentrate on him before anything else, don't use Jump + Hold B agains the Elephant, instead kill it normally for the battle points. If it spawns Gorillas, kill them too. Don't miss any of the QTE's, obviously.
15 - Black Asura will make absolute mince meat of you, even with Obliterator. Attack is the best for of Defense, use your superior speed to keep him floored. The Obliterator means everytime he looks like he's going to attack, use Y to stun him. On the 2nd fight he starts with an attack that can be countered, so don't activate LT straight away. When the 2nd Burst appears, fight him for another 20-30seconds. You'll need more Battle Points and that extra 30 secs will add 2000 extra points. Lots of Y Synch attacks in this one. Practice.
16 - I didn't struggle with this. The boss gives you plenty of chance for big Battle Points. Combo like mad with Obliterator immortality.
17 - Similar to 16, boss gives you plenty of opportunity to get big Battle Points, Obliterator eliminates time worries. Just worry about hitting yoru QTE's and Synchs.
18 - Really easy to get S, if you've done this level with the Mortal Gauge you will have no problems nailing S Rank.

The whole guide assumes you've played the game through with the Mortal Gauge and finished the game on Hard. I suggest using the Obliterator Gauge, if your not, then use Mortal Gauge tactics. Learn boss patterns, keep moving, combo, dodge, combo. Be alert to Counter Opportunites.
