Type D. No. 5 is a huge sized mech located in Executive Sector. It is a hard hitting bullet sponge that can easily make you run out of ammo or life if you aren’t prepared. Recommended 2+ people.

Prerequisite:
The team you belong to must have a 1 territory rating. To obtain a 1 territory rating, the team must have obtained a territory of any kind at some point. You can either earn the 1 territory rating for your team or enlist in a free to join team with a 1 territory rating.

This achievement cannot be gained as a mercenary.

Boss Capabilities:
Type D. No. 5 jumps between two locations on the map and slowly adjusts itself after each jump. It uses boosters to jump that can cause major damage to anyone caught underneath them. Its attacks consist of missile barrages from its shoulder pieces, cannon fire from his arms and a gigantic laser from its chest piece capable of destroying you in one hit. Once the head is destroyed the gigantic laser stops coming out and is replaced by a never ending shooting stream of smaller lasers.

Mech build:
I recommend a mobile build that can get from point A to point B fairly quickly. The more players that are in the game, the higher degree of freedom for a mech build you can make. A solo player has very limited options.

Here is one of a few methods you can use to solo this boss. (It also doesn’t rely on the Ultimate Weapons)

The build I used: (I use a fairly common cookie cutter build modified for this particular boss) This build may not be the most effective but it has succeeded in this achievement.

Head: CE-Resistant -> Beowulf HD103. Great Stability for fire rate, Camera for spotting enemies,

Armor: KE-Resistant -> Jotun CR113-2. solid Armor to weight.

Arms: CE-Resistant -> KT-4S2/Svir. Has the best Firing Stability of all arms, which affects Firing rate.

Legs: Reverse Jointed-H -> KT-2N3/Putuo. Has amazing jumping ability for maintaining mobility and has very good stats all around.

FCS: Long-Range Type -> FCS-07/Lr Uzume. Has the longest Lock-On Range

Generator: High-Output Type-> UGN-70/Ho Vital. Best Energy Output generator. Not my first choice but had to be used to stay under load capacity.

Booster: Low-Consumption Type -> Tempete BT49. Very effective stats per less energy consumption. Easier to boost longer.

Recon: Not needed

R Arm Unit: Gatling Gun -> KO-5K4/Zapyatoi: Specialized for Power. The KE damage is used to destroy the Arm pieces. This Gatling Gun is used for the Optimal Range as well as its Ammo Capacity. The extra ammo is very important.

L Arm Unit: Battle Rifle -> UBR-05/R: Specialized for Power. The CE damage is used to destroy the head. This Battle Rifle is the only one with enough ammo to safely destroy the head with very little to spare afterwards.

Shoulder Unit: CIWS -> CIWS-8/A: Protects from missile fire. The extra ammo count is needed in this CIWS for the prolonged battle against this boss. The Extra Ammo shoulder unit would have been nice but you would take too much missile fire otherwise.

R, L Bay Unit: Laser Rifle -> ULR-22/R: Specialized for Power. The TE damage is used to destroy the shoulder pieces. Normally an accuracy spec would be recommended for Laser Rifles but because your target is almost never moving, there is no point to fire faster when there is a lack of ammo in the first place. There is only enough ammo to destroy 1 and a half shoulder pieces with 2 Laser Rifles.

Strategy:

A straight up battle against this boss would be nightmarish for a solo player. The player would have to contend with more homing missiles than the player’s CIWS is capable of handling, occasional knockback heavy hitting cannon fire and the insta-kill giga laser. Luckily there are little nooks and crannies available in the level that can cheap-shot the boss with relative ease. Even with the easy time, you’ll still take occasional damage as well as have ammo problems. The Gatling gun is needed to destroy any pieces that weren’t destroyed.

From this point on, the boss's spawn zone will be known as Area 1 and the location it jumps to will be Area 2.

In the beginning of the battle, the boss will be in Area 1. Safe Zone #1 is at ground level in between the building in front of the boss and 3 military bunker looking buildings. If you stay toward the back of the gap between the building and the 3 bunkers, you’ll stay safe from the gigantic laser and right shoulder of the homing missiles. The left shoulder will attempt to hit you but most will hit the bunkers or the building. I would recommend turning on the CIWS since that would lower the chances of getting hit by those missiles even more. You may get hit but it would be for small damage. In Safe Zone #1, you’re able to see the left arm of the boss and fire at it freely. Using the Gatling Gun to do damage to the left arm piece, after about 60,000-100,000 damage, the boss will jump to Area 2.

Area 2 will be to the right. Safe Zone #2 is a gap in the roof of the building directly in front of the boss. This gap will protect against the gigantic laser as well as most missiles. However some of those missiles will still hit you, even with the CIWS on. The taller portion of the building can also protect against the gigantic laser but is vulnerable location to be hit by the homing missiles. The right side of the gap can be shot out of to hit the left shoulder piece easily for the first Area 2 encounter. Be careful with how you enter the gap as if you enter the right side too soon, the boss may hit you with its arm cannon which takes a good portion of life. Using the Laser Rifles to damage the left shoulder piece, after about 100,000 damage, the boss will jump back to Area 1.

Second encounter of Area 1 will be similar to the first encounter. Head back to Safe Zone #1 and finish off the left arm piece with the Gatling Gun. From there, you’ll want to head left to the building next to the boundary zone. Be cautious of the Gigantic Laser and listen for sound cues that announce that it is about to fire. Once you cross over, you can peak out to the right and shoot the right arm piece. Keep an eye out on the chest piece, if it starts to sparkle, get behind the building immediately, away from the corner incase the laser clips the building and does damage behind it. Using the Gatling gun to damage the right arm piece, after about 50,000 damage, the boss will jump over to Area 2.

For the second encounter of Zone 2, you’ll want to head to Safe Zone #2 long enough for a gigantic laser to be fired off. Jump out of Safe Zone #2 and quickly destroy the left shoulder piece with the Laser Rifles. Before the boss retaliates with another Gigantic Laser go behind the building of Safe Zone #2 and wait for the Giga Laser to be shot. If you go to the building to the left and peak out between that building and the freeway overpass, you can see the right arm piece easily. The Giga laser won’t hit you if you get behind cover and the homing missiles will mostly hit the freeway overpass. Destroy the right arm piece with the Gatling gun. The boss may attempt to jump to Area 1 but you should be able to destroy it before jumps over. If not, head over to Area 1 and destroy the right arm piece.

Encounter 3 in Area 1 and onwards allows for a bit more freedom. You have a choice of destroying the right shoulder piece leaving only the Giga Laser to worry about or you can destroy the head, leaving only a weak set of lasers replacing the Giga Laser and the homing missiles. Destroying the head is easier in my opinion and prevents one hit deaths.
---------
If attacking the head, use the Battle Rifle and Gatling Gun. Use the remaining Battle Rifle and the Gatling Gun for the shoulder piece after the head. Neither do very good damage to the shoulder piece but it is necessary.

If attacking the right shoulder piece, use up your remaining Laser Rifle and finish it off with the Gatling Gun. Its is important to leave the Battle Rifle for the head as the Gatling gun will not do much damage to the head either.
--------
Now that there is less pieces attacking you, there is a tactic available that can force the boss to jump to the next area prematurely. By circling around the boss (I prefer the left side) faster than it can aim its laser at you, it will cause it to jump to escape. While circling the boss and while the boss is jumping, this will give you great opportunities at clean shots at weak spots safely and almost uncontested.

Continue with this tactic until the boss is defeated.

Here is a video of the tactics I did above that shows it more clearly than words:
