How to unlock the Full Garage achievement

Thanks to a glitch I discovered when purchasing my final car and confirmed by purchasing all of the paint schemes I have found a way to easily unlock cars and save your cash. Unfortunately I did not find it sooner.

The glitch is simple, you just need to have the EXACT amount a vehicle/paint scheme costs. If you have the EXACT amount you will unlock the car/scheme and KEEP your cash. It is really as simple as that!

If you carefully plan out your purchases you can hit them all in order from least expensive to most expensive and only have to save up 500,000 which covers the most expensive solid gold paint jobs.

Edited to add: I made a video to show that this indeed works.

sobadnomadSecond time I did this, didn't pop. Never knew this could happen haha. I don't think it's gliched, but the money is. If you have more than 2,500 for the last purchase I believe you don't have to deal with those steps. It wants you to BUY them, but the coins don't go away at a perfect amount.

Friggin GreaseUhm. It didn't pop, Series X, installed.

Ah shit... So I was buying paint schemes and not variants. Didn't even know LT and RT gave me different variants. Son of a gun eh?

But the glitch still works as of January 16, 2024

This is a solution for the Full Garage achieve for those who have had this achievement glitch (even after the update). This solution is based on the solution of Pinapple04 (in the comments of Thrashballer, above) combined with the comments of others and my own experience.

Mine glitched as well even though I only began the game after the update that was supposed to fix the glitch. I only tried the process by Pineapple04 above. I did not clear cache or recover gamertag, so I can confirm those steps are not necessary. Just to be explicit, my steps were:

    1. Go to "Help and Options"/"Change Storage Device"
    2. Select different storage - I selected hard drive instead of cloud which I normally select.
    3. Return to Stunk Park/100hp/Crimson vehicle selection screen.
    4. Scroll through all vehicle using LT/RT, but not selecting any.
    5. Repeat 1-4 until it pops. It took me about 4-5 attempts as others have reported as well.

I did not restart the game each try and I continued to select the same alternate storage device (hard drive) with each try. I also used the "exact money" glitch described above to purchase many vehicles, so that did not impair my ability to get the unlock later even though it glitched.

Also, I followed no special procedures during my regular gamplay and vehicle purchases, e.g. I did not play all modes, exit after every purchase, or purchase the last car not using the exact money glitch. I definitely purchased my last car (400K) using the exact money glitch and I went in and out of menus while playing/purchasing without any regard (because I didn't know I should have been worried about the glitch).

Regarding the unglitching process above, my theory is that each time you select alternate storage (even if you select the same device) it gives you a renewed opportunity to scan the vehicles for the achievement. (You can see the save icon appear each time you select alternate storage, so it's probably resetting something in the save file.) Sometimes it still glitches so nothing happens, but eventually it pops.

This is probably not a factor, but the time that I finally got the achievement to unlock, when I was rescanning the vehicles, for every vehicle that had more than one option I only pressed the trigger 3 times, so I would not end on the stock vehicle, I would end on the vehicle just before it returns to stock, i.e. the most expensive, before moving onto the next car. It's probably just a coincidence, but the next person who tries this process could test this to see if it makes a difference.

Hope this helps. Such a relief to have it pop for those completionists out there.

LegionOblivionWas able to get this today (01/04/2024) on Xbox One S with only cloud gaming as the storage device. I tried yesterday following the above steps 1-4 while only cycling the styles 3 times to end with all vehicles sitting on the style before "stock". I must have tried at least 30 times on two separate occasions throughout the day and it was not working. Loaded up today and immediately went and selected the storage device as "cloud saves" without heading in to stunt park and vehicle selection. Then I followed steps 1-4, leaving all vehicles at the style before stock and it popped! If you try one day and it does not work, leave it, and head in fresh the next day.

BKLortzIt amazes me that I posted this solution almost 9 years ago and it still helps someone now and then. I almost didn't bother because I thought probably no one would care. Really glad to know it wasn't a waste of time.

LateKnot1573731Tired it on the Xbox Series S, and it still works (2/6/24). Like they say, just try it a few times and it’ll eventually work

You will need to purchase every types of cars in the game to get this achievement.

First of all, what you need to know is you will need a total of 3.2 Millions to buy every car in the game. Secondly, the fastest way to earn money is to do the last 300 HP Grand Prix event over and over (Should take 10-12 mins to complete) and if you are finishing first, you will receive $130k (or $72k for 2nd place) but don't worry , after a few times you will always being first because those races are really easy.

Another thing to considered, when you are about to buy every car (In the Car Select Menu, just before you go playing) don't forget to press the Right Trigger (RT) to change the Types of cars, some cars have 2 or 3 different types of cars and a few ones have only 1 models, some people may forget about it. Once you have all the other achievement, you will need to do the 300 HP Grand Prix for a total of 4+ hours over and over again till you get enough money to buy every cars. (Unless somebody find a better solution, then feel free to post it !)

Good Luck and if you have any question, just post in the comment section below !

TsubakiCalamityHey, guys, I like to let you all know that there is an recent title update for this game and it has fixed this achievement bug. I think it's time for me to finish this game off for now. :D

Orran DuraiI voted positive as this solution was the way to go for me without using the glitch. The grind is not so bad. I started with around 800,000 after all races and stunt parks were done. I bought the fastest sports car right away for 400,000 and with that “investment” it is super easy to come first in 300HP Grand Prix. Took not long until I could buy all cars.
