    I also found, when you go into a level, if you just then bring the menu up and 'save and finish level' - this will get you the achievement too...

    Make sure you watch any current scene first and collect a stud for example before doing this :)

    MIKE1989TWJust a heads up, this guide well but didn’t work for free play.. make sure you do it on story mode..

    diegojzxIf you don't have another controller you can use a digital controller called "Controller for Xbox One" download it on Playstore and connect, unfortunately it doesn't work for Xbox Series S/X only for Xbox one.

    You don't need to play through a whole level. I activated a second controller about 2/3 of the way through the second level and the achievement popped after the finishing the stage.

    You must also play on story mode and not free play.

    EDIT: Thanks to SaltyTON for the confirmation that you can wait until just the end of the level and activate your second controller when the boss is on their last heart.

    SaltyTONI turned on controller that wasn't signed into an account when the Scarecrow was on his last heart, then killed him and achievement popped.

    Perhaps OP could update to include everything that people have said...

    If you don't have someone to play with you, the easiest level to do this on is Level 13 (Core Instability). It's a shooting level and you can just turn on the other controller and let it sit there. As others have said, you can't do this in freeplay. Replay story is the only way.
