I got this in level 5 of the first world (The Path), which is the world where it teaches you how to use your sword, bow, and throwing stars. The enemies are extremely easy in this world, and you can see their attack animations long before they hit you.

For the close-range enemies, all you have to do is step to the side, (left or right, it doesn't matter), wait for their attack to miss, and then step back in front of the enemies to hit them and kill them. The only exception to this rule is the exploding-barrel enemies, which you need to kick away from you (left or right foot). This will then kick them to the back of the screen, turning them into long-range enemies. They will then explode.

For the long-range enemies, these are mostly arrow-shooting enemies, which are easy to dodgy by stepping left or right. To kill these off, you'll have to put your left arm back over your shoulder (to get your bow), and then fire at them. Whilst holding your bow, and aiming it, you can step side to side to dodge the arrows, like when you're dodging the sword attacks of the close-range enemies. Again, keep firing arrows as fast as you can (I tended to get one every second when firing), and the long-range enemies will go down in no time.

One other thing, if you've having trouble getting the Kinect to register your attacks, I know it sounds (and looks) silly, but if you hold a butter knife in your hand, (or a toy sword, if you have one), the Kinect seems to pick up the motions much more easily, especially when firing your bow.
