This is the total number of buildings you've constructed over all of your save games.

To see how many building you have in your current save game hit the back button, open your log book and check the bottom of the first page. This will list all of your warehouses, businesses and residences. However it doesn't list the any of the schools, hospitals, shipyards or other buildings you've constructed so this achievement may appear to pop early.

Other than that keep knocking up buildings as fast as you can, there's really no reason not to.

The best idea for this is to build in a city where Adobe Bricks and Wood are both made. For example, Campeche, Curacao, Georgetown, and Charleston would be good places to build things, since they produce Wood and Adobe Bricks.

Another alternative is to build in a city that produces either Bricks or Wood, and is also next to a city that produces its compliment. Such cities include Coro and Maracaibo, Caracas and Margarita, Vera Cruz and Tampico, Tampa and the Florida Keys, Havana and Nombre de Dios, New Orleans and Biloxi, and Santigo and Port-au-Prince.

And one last thing; it would be a good idea to have a good amount of money, at least half a million, since most buildings will cost around 26,000 gold coins (without the necessary materials).
