This is a fairly easy achievement to get, as I got it within 30 hours of the game's release, granted I played practically non-stop. But anyways I've found the best ways to level up are through simply completing main story quests, and (if you found them) the Slaughter Domes, make sure you have co-op buddies as well because that will increase your XP gain.
If you haven't found the Hyperion Slaughter Dome it is located in the South Side of Eridium Blight, just up a rocky hill. You can get to Eridium Blight through the Northwest corner of The Dust.

Take note that in the Eridium Blight, you may also come across Donkey Mong, who will award you the Definitely An Italian Plumber achievement, and possibly a rare weapon or two, he is where I found my first Orange Rarity weapon.

(Edit) I noticed that I didn't have the "Definitely An Italian Plumber" achievement yesterday, so I went back to Eridium Blight and discovered that you actually come across King Mong, NOT Donkey Mong, however he still has a tendency to drop good loot, so I recommend killing him for that reason alone.

(Edit #2) After fooling around for a while I discovered that Donkey Mong IS in Eridium Blight, and not too far from the location you generally find King Mong, take a right just before you enter the Hyperion Slaughter Dome. Donkey Mong is actually quite small compared to King Mong, but you can identify him by the barrels he will continuously throw at you.

Also, suggested by Hirsute Dave "If you stick to within a level or two of the recommended level for each quest you should be able to get a good chunk of XP for each kill without getting too overwhelmed."

Credit for helping me discover this method goes to the following:
    Rand Al Thor 19
    Bond OO7
    Omega Deez

This method is the fastest way to reach level 25 and even 50 if you have the right requirements and patience. These few requirement can get you this achievement in about 20-25min :

-Need to play on True Vault Hunter Mode (2nd play-through)
-Need 2-4 players (Less players = a bit more XP)
-One of the players needs to be level 50 player with VERY good weapons/shield
-If you have a friend who finished the game before you and hasn't started the quest then you're in luck.

The mission in question is called "You Are Cordially Invited: RSVP". It's reasonably far into the game and it's located in Tundra Express. After you meet Tiny Tina she'll have you retrieve "the guest of honor" Flesh-Stick. Normally you'll have to lure him to her clubhouse to progress the mission and not kill him. DO NOT do this.

What you'll need to do is have the lesser leveled player activate the mission at Tiny Tina and remain there. The level 50 player will wait at the hut where Flesh-Stick, who is level 41 will appear and kill him (Best to have a high level weapon to 1 shot him). Doing this will FAIL the mission, however, depending on your level in comparison to Flesh-Stick you will get 5k xp starting at level 1. After the mission fails just have the lesser leveled player re-activate the mission at Tiny Tina and repeat the process.

From level 1 the starting XP will be about 5k per player and will slowly but surely diminish as you reach Flesh-Sticks level. In about 40-45min I went from level 1-44 where now I only get 200XP per kill.

P.S. Make sure you kill all of Flesh-Stick's henchmen before you start re-doing the process. And sometime he won't spawn, if this occurs just go to the nearest map change area (The End) - it's where you sabotage the train where you fight Wilheim. It's right next to the area where you're fighting Flesh-Stick. And then go right back to Tundra Express and it'll work again. As long as you don't complete the mission you can do it as long as you want.

Following this method will earn you a quick level 25 character and an additional 25G!

WeisGuy9I'm not following. If you are on your second playthrough, then you already have this achievement.

Murder of BirdsYou can still do it on your first playthrough. True Vault Hunter Mode (2nd playthrough) would give you the maximum amount of XP you can earn. This method can also be used to reach lv 50.

MORBSTAThis mission is guite far into the game and you preferably need a friend to be near to that mission, all in all it just takes to long to do and by the time you reach the named mission more or less will be level 25.
