Here's my (first) solution attempt. Please leave comments to help me improve!

As stated, select XBOX Live, then Tournament.
You can either choose 8-ball or 9-ball, either option will work.

I chose to set up an 8-ball tournament, as most people play 9-ball so that keeps some of the randoms out of the way.

Now we had 4 people in our gaming session, which is just enough to do this. I am guessing you could do it with less but it would be more difficult (as will be explained below.) As we didn't know all this information before we started, it took us about 45 minutes for all 4 to get the achievement. So if you read and follow this solution, I reckon 20-30 minutes is enough!

Matchmaking has been reported as hard or glitchy for this game. I would disagree - it's not really the matchmaking it's the Tournament "Ladder" structure that makes finding each other difficult.

Note that each tournament has only two players in it, and your standing or advancement from winning the match carries through to the next match.

Basically. there are three rounds to the tournament:

Round 1

To get the achievement you have to effectively win three matches in a row (Round1, Semi & Final) because if you lose a match, you are put back to Round 1.

The 'trick' is that you can only play against players who are at the same match level as you in the tournament. So if you have won the Round 1 match and are now at Semi-Final level, you can only play against someone who has also won Round 1 and is at Semi-Final level. So you have to set it up within your group of players so that the person you are trying to get the achievement for at any one time, has someone of the same level to play against. Here's an example of how it could work:

4 players in your group: A, B, C, D
3 positions in the tournament: R1, SF, F

To give player A the achievement, the group needs to play 7 matches in total. Do this by having one player create an 8-ball match, 1 frame, Min Aim of Novice and the other player searching for an 8-ball match with the same settings. Once you have found each other, the joining player needs to "ready up' and the creating player needs to "start".

Note: The "loser" should quit out after the first shot is taken to give the "winner" the match.

Match 1 (R1): A plays B, A wins and advances to SF, B is still in R1.
Match 2 (R1): C plays D, C wins and advances to SF, D is still in R1.
Match 3 (R1): B plays D, B wins and advances to SF, D is still in R1.
Match 4 (SF): A plays C, A wins and advances to F, C resets to R1.
Match 5 (R1): C plays D, C wins and advances to SF, D is still in R1.
Match 6 (SF): B plays C, B advances to F, C resets to R1.
Match 7 (F): A plays B, A wins and gets the achievement!!! Both A & B reset to R1.

I hope that helps to explain it to everyone. Please leave me comments if you don;t understand anything and I'll edit the solution to improve it if necessary.
