Introduction
To obtain the Master Cartographer achievement, you must collect all 17 secret star constellations in a single playthrough of Pid. Secret star constellations are special golden constellations hidden throughout the world of Pid, each having a specific shape often tied thematically to the area in which it is found. Each golden star in a secret star constellation is equivalent to two normal white stars and all golden stars in a secret star constellation must be collected to collect that constellation. The locations for each secret star constellation, along with any helpful screenshots and video I could find, are provided below in the order in which you should find them.

Before we get started, some important notes:
1. There are frequent one-way doors throughout the game. If you miss even one of these constellations, you may need to restart your playthrough. Be vigilant!

2. You must retrieve each constellation and live until passing the next checkpoint. You cannot collect a constellation, die, and then proceed with your playthrough; the constellation won't be counted! Since there's no obvious way to know when you've reached the next checkpoint (aside from leaving an area) you will need to be cautious whenever you die right after collecting a constellation. If you respawn back before the constellation's hiding place, you will need to recollect it.

3. I highly recommend that you attempt this achievement on Normal difficulty. The secret constellations are all available on Hard mode, but they are much, much, much more challenging to obtain. Trust me.

Secret Star Constellations
1. Thumbs Up
External image
Location: Castle Cave
Difficulty: Low
Required Items: Beam gems
Notes:
The Thumbs Up constellation is one of the easiest to find. It is located high above the treasure chest that holds the beam gems Kurt finds in the Castle Cave. Climb up above the cloud blocks on the left side of the cave, continuing up the side of wall using the beam. The constellation is in a small alcove at the top. For more information, see Video #1 below at around 2:20.

2. The Box
External image
Location: Castle Cave
Difficulty: Medium
Required Items: Beam gems
Notes:
The Box is a little more tricky to reach. While exploring the Castle Cave, you'll come upon a pit filled with red spikes. The constellation is in a small hidden alcove to the lower left in the pit. The alcove will only appear if you enter it, if you throw a beam gem into it, or if a beam projects into or through it. At this point in the game, a single contact with the spikes will kill you, so you need to carefully position a beam on the lower right side of the pit to reach the constellation (see the above image for guidance). The best way to do this seems to be to drop down into the pit on the right hand side, dropping a beam below you right before you hit the bottom. Turn and position a beam on the wall to cross the pit in safety.

3. The Glasses
External image
Location: Attic
Difficulty: Low
Required Items: Beam gems
Notes:
The Glasses constellation is the first of three secret constellations located in the Attic. The constellation is hidden at the end of a small hallway located beneath a series of small platforms manned by blue robots. The hallway itself is hidden and, just like the alcove containing the Box, will only appear if you enter it or throw a beam into it.

4. The Dog
External image
Location: Attic
Difficulty: Low
Required Items: Beam gems
Notes:
The Dog constellation is located at the top of the Attic, above the large open space where you fight the large rocket-firing roller robot. You'll need to strategically place beams on the rotating boxes to get up to the constellation's platform. It may take a few tries to get right so keep at it. You cannot advance past this room until you kill the robot, so I recommend going for this after you've beaten it. For more help, see Video #2 below, around 8:10.

5. The Shooting Star
External image
Location: Attic
Difficulty: Low
Required Items: Beam gems
Notes:
You'll probably see the Shooting Star before you obtain it; it's floating above the roof of the Attic, seemingly beyond your reach. You can get up onto the roof via the blue chimney. After passing under the constellation, you'll come to an area covered in red spikes. There will be two moving platforms, one horizontally and one vertically. Once you get on the vertically moving platform, simply plant a beam on it and ride it up through the chimney's hidden passage. For more help, see Video #2 below, around 11:50.

6. The Clown Pistol
External image
Location: Sitting Room
Difficulty: Low
Required Items: Beam gems
Notes:
The Clown Pistol is the first of four secret constellations hidden in the Sitting Room, which is composed of a hub room with four other side rooms branching off from it. This constellation is located in the room below the hub room. Once in the right area, pass by the first stationery viewcone emplacement and up to the ledge above. If you climb the cloud blocks, you'll reach the constellation. For more help, see Video #3 below, around 2:30.

Note: since the Sitting Room is structured around a hub, you should be able to revisit each area as many times as you want. If you miss any of the constellations in any of the Sitting Room side areas, simply revisit the area in question once you get back to the hub.

7. The Boat
External image
Location: Sitting Room
Difficulty: Low
Required Items: Beam gems
Notes:
The Boat is located in the left-most area of the Sitting Room hub. While completing this area, you will come upon a simple puzzle where a door panel rests at the top a small slope, with the box needed to hold it down at the bottom of said slope. The constellation is in a secret chamber high above the box; you'll need to wall climb the shaft above the slope by repeatedly jumping and throwing the beam against the right hand side of the shaft. If you persist you will eventually find the room and the constellation. For a visual aid on the room described above, see Video #3 below, around 8:40.

8. The Apple
External image
Location: Sitting Room
Difficulty: Medium
Required Items: Beam gems
Notes:
The Apple constellation is located in the side room above the Sitting Room hub. Right near the start of this area you will come to a room with a red spike floor with a door to the right. The constellation is located high above the door. DO NOT GO THROUGH THE DOOR. If the door closes after you pass through it, you will need to complete the side room and return to the hub before being able to get back to this area.

You will need to climb the left (or right) hand wall using the beam (much like how you got to The Boat previously). The slanted portion of the wall is troublesome because any beam placed on it will force you back down the wall. To get around this, you'll need to ride a lower horizontal beam out past the top corner of the slanted segment before jumping up out of the beam to position another beam above the slanted segment. It is tricky but doable. For some help on locating this constellation, see Video #4 below, around 0:45 - 1:10.

9. The Bow and Arrow
External image
Location: Sitting Room
Difficulty: Low
Required Items: Beam gems
Notes:
The Bow and Arrow constellation is located right above the Apple constellation; you just need to progress a little further in the level before reaching it. Pass through the door discussed above and you will eventually come to a small section where you'll see some beam proof blue blocks before a closed door. Instead of opening the door and passing through, place a beam on the door and hover over the gap to the opposite wall. Place a beam on the red spike platform at the bottom of the wall. The constellation is in a concealed area in the wall right above the red spikes. For help, see Video #4 below, around 3:50.

10. The Sunflower
External image
Location: Library
Difficulty: High
Required Items: Beam gems, Timed bombs
Notes:
The Sunflower is the first constellation that requires you to navigate a tricky puzzle section in order to obtain it. In the Library, you will need to use the beams to navigate a key over a bunch of red spike sections. Right before the door the key unlocks, there is a section of red spikes on the floor. DO NOT GO THROUGH THE DOOR. If you die after passing through the door, it will not be possible to get the constellation.

In the middle of the ceiling above the aforementioned spikes is a small shaft, capped with a crumbly block. You'll need to position a beam so that you can get a timed bomb up the shaft to break the block. Once through the shaft, you'll see the constellation behind a locked door. Below, through a few tight passages, is a button with a robot on it. You must kill the robot (or levitate it off the panel) to get the constellation. Fall down the vertical shaft leading to the robot (the bottom is covered in spikes), dropping a beam right before you hit the bottom. Position a second beam so that it passes down the horizontal shaft to the robot. Send a timed bomb along this second beam to kill the robot and open the door. For help locating the initial shaft to access the area with the constellation, see Video #5 at exactly 3:15.

Note: if you use a beam to levitate the robot off of the panel, be quick when retrieving the constellation. If the beam disappears and the robot falls back onto the panel before you get through or back through the door, you will be locked out and will need to try again.

11. The Skydiver
External image
Location: Rooftop City
Difficulty: Medium
Required Items: Beam gems, Burst beam gems (optional but helpful)
Notes:
The Skydiver constellation is located right before the end of the first big area in the Rooftop City. You'll need to take the upper path through the sky to find it. It is located on a platform of elevated blue building. You can use a burst beam from below (if you position it right) or you can follow a few other paths starting earlier in the level. It's honestly kind of hard to describe since this part of the Rooftop City is so chaotic, so for help locating the right area, see Video #6 around 5:55.

12. The V Sign
External image
Location: Workshop
Difficulty: Medium
Required Items: Beam gems, Burst beam gems (optional but helpful)
Notes:
The V Sign constellation is located behind two locked doors in the Workshop. You'll know you're nearby when you get to a beam-maneuverable platform with a zigzag track. To the left of the track will be a small hallway with two floor panel button and two locked doors. You need two boxes to open the doors. The first is in a hidden area directly above the terminus of the zigzag track; just place a beam on the maneuverable platform and you can climb up the shaft. Alternatively, you could also use a burst beam gem.

The second box is located behind a locked door to the right of the zigzag track. To get this box, you must proceed up past this area and to the next area of the Workshop. Once you navigate through this area, you will exit next to the second box (you have to unlock the door to continue). Obtain both boxes, place them on the panels, and enter the hidden area past the doors to claim your prize. See the first few minutes of Video #7 below for assistance.

13. The Broken Sword
External image
Location: Workshop
Difficulty: Low
Required Items: Beam gems
Notes:
The Broken Sword is located at the lowest point of the Workshop, deep in the chasm spanned by the bridge you're trying to fix. Proceed into the hub area and make your way south and east until you come to an area with many vertical and horizontal conveyor belts, vertically adjacent to the chasm. Proceed to the bottom of this area, making your way to the edge of the chasm. You should see a platform in the gap. Get onto this platform and use the spring mounted below it to bounce over to the lower platform where the constellation resides. For help, see Video #8 below, around 7:10.

14. The Telephone
External image
Location: Kitchen
Difficulty: High
Required Items: Beam gems
Notes:
The Telephone constellation is in the first area of the Kitchen, located on a platform far below the normal path you will take when you play through this area. While making your way, you will come to a pair of conveyor belts in an inverted T configuration. There is a platform barely visible below the horizontal conveyor belt. Use a beam to ride the belt down around to the platform. You need to bounce off of the spring mounted there all the way across the level to the platform with the secret constellation.

Now, this jump is tricky. You'll need to push to the right as you fly to get maximum distance. However, doing this the whole way will make you miss, hitting the protective platform above the constellation. I've found that twitching quickly to the left right before you reach the constellation's platform will slow you just enough to land you on the platform. You may need to do a reactive jump once you land to absorb your speed. It's ultimately pretty tricky and this is, in my opinion, the hardest of the constellations to reach. Keep at it and you'll grab it. The commentator in Video #9 below will describe where and what you need to do starting around 8:15.

15. The Running Man
External image
Location: Catacombs
Difficulty: Medium
Required Items: Beam gems, Slingshot
Notes:
The Running Man is located in a hidden area positioned about halfway through the final area in the Catacombs, right before you ride the large, winged blue enemy head. The area itself is in the wall right above the final section of red spikes. You will need to carefully fling beam gems via slingshot to form stairs out of the cloud blocks to get up to the top of the secret area. The commentator in Video #10 below points out the location of the secret area around 12:50.

16. The Tragedy and Comedy Masks
External image
Location: Backstage
Difficulty: Low
Required Items: Burst beam gems
Notes:
The Tragedy and Comedy Masks are located, appropriately, in one of the Backstage areas in the Opera House, in an alcove in the ceiling. While moving one of the keys across to its corresponding door, if you traverse the elevated path you'll see several vertically moving triangular platforms. You can see an opening in the ceiling before these platforms. Use the burst beam to fling yourself up into the ceiling to get the constellation. For additional help, see Video #11, around 7:00.

17. The Rocket
External image
Location: Moon
Difficulty: Low
Required Items: Beam gems, Anti Gravity boots
Notes:
The final secret constellation, the Rocket, is located on the Moon, right after you land from Outer Space. There will be a giant moon beam to the left shooting out of the ground. Equip the Anti Gravity boots and walk into the beam. There is a hidden area below it and if you follow the path, you'll see the final constellation. Simply position a beam to get you into the alcove with the constellation and wait for your boots to run out.
