Strike Force - IED
This missions is not required to be played on veteran difficulty, but they do have challenges that count towards one achievements. Failing to complete this mission will result in 'Ship Shape' not being earned later in the story mode.This mission becomes available after completing Fallen Angel. You are tasked with escorting a convoy through the desert. The level layout may look familiar as it is the one from mission 3. It will be best that you play this twice to earn all challenges. In one play through you should do challenge 4, 5, and 10 together. On the second play through you should be able to complete the other 7 challenges with the quad drone. You will want to use the quad drone 85% of the time and focus on the RPG soldiers the most since they will deal the most damage to the convoy.
Mission Challenges:
1) Eliminate 3 enemy soldier while they are planting an IED - You will want to be controlling the Quad Drones. The soldiers planting the IEDs are the soldiers that run into the road ahead of the convoy and are placing mines in their path.You should be able to complete the challenge after clearing out the first 2 locations.
2) Eliminate 10 enemy soldiers while on horseback - You simply need to kill 10 soldiers that are riding a horse. There are probably around 30-40 that are on horseback during this mission.
3) Convoy does not stop due to an IED - There are 4 IED locations on this map and at each location there are 3-4 mines. If you get far enough ahead of the convoy, you will be able to catch the IED soldiers. Simply shoot the IEDs at each location. Reference the map in the video for IED locations.
4) Destroy 3 tanks with a kinetic projectile - This can be done easily while playing through on tatical view. Push down on the Dpad to control it and hit RT to fire the projectile. There are 4 tanks in this mission. The reload time is pretty significant for this weapon, so make sure you target the tanks as soon as possible so the other units don't destroy more than one of the tanks.
5) Destroy a helo with a kinetic projectile - There are 3 helicopters in this mission. They will show up after you reach IED location 3. Make sure you target them as quick as possible since the quad drones make short work of the helicopters.
6) Eliminate 20 enemy soldiers as a quad drone - Pretty self explanatory. Kills that you make for the soldiers riding on horseback do count towards this one as well.
7) Run over 10 enemy soldiers as an ASD - This can be done near the end of the mission where the weapon cache was for mission 3. There are plenty of soldiers on the ground. Just be cautious of the RPG soldiers in the area.
8) Use only an ASD to destroy a tank - You only need to destroy 1 tank with using only the ASD. There are 4 tanks throughout this mission.
9) Keep all vehicles in the convoy safe - All vehicles must reach the extraction zone.
10) Complete the mission in tactical view only - Tactical view is the view where you do not have full control over units on the field. You enter this view by hitting the 'back' button. You can simply tell them where to go on the map and who to direct fire at. You will need to complete the entire mission in tactical view for this challenge.
