I should give some warning to a trick that got me several times til I saw a way around it.

The game has a horrible habit of forcing you to swap to player 2 at the worse times, e.g. when you need to swap from Legolas to Gollum to climb walls.
Just make sure you have a second controller plugged in as then it can never swap to that character. The smaller screen size isn't that bad, but this method is damn vital at times.
Climbing Isengard Tower to get Saruman and two mithril bricks springs to mind.

WeisGuy9Had the exact same problem. Was getting SOOO frustrated trying to climb Isengard tower.

mcass23Been there too!! ...and just to add to Karachi King comment... this game doesn't always 'wait' to see how long you are 'holding' the Y button. Ive had it switch on me a number of times when trying to pull up the character wheel... (I bought the digital version on sale in summer 2014 - in case people thought this was only disc related). but Karachi King is correct...if you are able to use your Mithril items instead of character abilities...it will keep you sane...
