At the onset of this solution I want to note that Team Multiplayer Matches do not count towards your total of 30 for this achievement. You can play a 1v1, a 2v1, a 3v1 or any combination of a free-for-all game, but you must not be on another player's team, ie. you must always be the “vs. 1.”

To get this achievement in the quickest way possible go to “Play” – “Multiplayer” – “Xbox Live” – “Custom Match” and select “Borderspace” as your map. Once it creates your game lobby your friend can either search for it using the same settings (almost simultaneously) or you can send them an invite. One thing to note is that is if you keep matching up with random gamers (which is extremely unlikely due to the vacant online servers) you can set your game to private by pressing “X” when you select the map instead of “A.”

Now since this achievement is just for completing thirty games, it does not matter who does what, but one player needs to be the attacking team and one the defending which is best stipulated by who is what level, and thus has which techs unlocked. Either way, both players will play as Humanity Inc. and use the following techs to speed up the game as much as possible:

Attacking Team Techs:
- Ships: Ship speed +30% ship damage -20% (3rd from the left, unlocks at Level 8)
- People: 30% Faster Population Growth, 10% Lower Income Rate (3rd from Left, unlocks at Level 9)
- Special: Squad Size 9 (4th from the left, unlocks at Level 13)

Defending Team Techs:
- Ships: Ship speed +30% ship damage -20% (3rd from the left, unlocks at Level 8)
- People: 30% Faster Income Rate, 10% Slower Population Growth (2nd from Left, unlocks at Level 6)
- Special: Space fortress accelerates your ships and slows down opponents ships; All planets defense -40% (furthest right from left, unlocks at Level 16)

All together this has the effect of the attacking team being able to send faster attacking ships, that although are attacking with slightly reduced fire power, are larger in numbers and are attacking substantially weakened defenses through the defender's decreased planet health and population. Obviously if you or your partner do not have all the above techs unlocked, then make due with what you have.

After both players have picked their race & techs, an auto-timer will start. You can skip this countdown by having everyone in the game ready up as soon as possible.

Once in the game the attacking team will send a full force attack at the defending team who will, at the onset of the match, split off their attackers toward the two laser planets. The result is a fast takeover by the attacking team, and simultaneous destruction of all the defending team's forces resulting in a quick victory no matter what the randomly assigned match objective was.

Rinse and repeat 29 more times, and you will both have your achievement for completing 30 multiplayer games in under half an hour.

As a final note you can check your progress at any time by going from the “Play” menu to your “Player room” and then by clicking on your “Rewards.” Once there, scroll to the bottom right of “Page 1/2” to look at your progress toward the Fair Play Reward. This reward, like the achievement, only tracks solo Xbox Live multiplayer matches.
