I would recommend using the downloadable RUF Spyder to obtain the vast majority of platinum medals in events (*except cone challenges), as this car is fairly easy to control and has great acceleration out of corners.
For the cone challenges your best bet is the RUF SuperCar Concept, its very easy to initiate drifts in to continue building up kudos and it also has very responsive breaking, unlike other faster cars.

Armstrong x360aThis car almost breaks platinum in a way. There were some tracks that I struggled on for so long and then beat on the first try in this car. There were also tracks where in this class D car I was ahead of my gold ghost in a class B car... I didn't think I had downloaded this car, but check, since it came with the Style Pack, if you've owned this game awhile, chances are you have it.

pezza888It's a damn shame that the DLC got delisted. The game must be so much easier with the DLC cars

This can be done in most of the top class cars, the McLaren F1 is the most forgiving for the power/speed with the TVR Speed 12 getting a bit hard under braking with the F50 taking no prisoners at all!

Everyone knows a race is won and lost in the corners on this game, i would recommend using the F50 and adopting a trailing input technique:

    Braking into the corner:
Trail off the accelerator, but not 100% i know it sounds daft but you have to keep the balance of the car correct (this is where i find this game more realist than gran tourismo)
Brake into the bend with never more than 75% full braking power, feel it in, dont hammer it in!

    Powering out of the corner:
The same as above but in reverse (i dont mean go backwards!) always keep that tiny bit of pressure on the brakes and only feed the power up to 75% sometimes i would pulse this amount anyway just to always be on the edge of the available traction. Then as you straighten up go WOT.

This is really from the point of view of the F50, although adopting this technique in class b and c races will have you running rumble-strip to rumble strip perfect.

If there are some still available have a watch of the hero's channel on LIVE you'll be able to see this working in the races.
(on TS rating 30+ winning a race will be the same as almost lapping the opposition in the single player career so get online and race :-} )

mzivtinsCheck out some youtube videos.. it has been a while since i did it but try and use the CCR where possible, it is a good powersliding car with an extreemly short wheelbase. Where ever you have the rooom to, try and fishtail down the road a bit, this will get your Kudos score up so much because the combo bonus will keep growing so long as you do a kudos move once every 1-2 seconds.

Corvus Q7Just figured I would agree, the McLaren F1, once I learned to use it properly, has been working very well for me.

I'd use the Ferarri F50 GT for all events (where-ever possible). It's easy to initiate a drift for the cone challenges, and quick as hell for a circuit race. (The Mclaren F1 is an alternative, but the Ferrari is a little bit quicker in a staight line)
