IntroductionThis Kinect Sports Gem is identical to the Prize Driver minigame in
Kinect Sports: Season Two. The gameplay is simple. Prizes move across a conveyor-belt in front of you, and you must hit them into a giant star in the distance to collect the rewards. There are also breakable items, which will decrease your score.
As with all Kinect Sports Gems, gaining levels is not based on gaining experience or burning calories. To gain levels, you must complete challenges.
For the completion, you will need to obtain all 101 available stars by completing challenges. Most of the challenges will come naturally, but some do require a change in gameplay.
Game TipsStance/Technique - Your general stance should be as if you are playing golf. Just stand to your side and swing your arms from behind your head in an arc to where the items are on the conveyor-belt. Smaller swings will also work, and they will be required when the conveyor-belt begins to pick up pace, but sometimes kinect can fail to spot your subtle movements.
Scoring - There are three item types in terms of score. Gold Trophies are marked with a green $500 tag. All other items you can checkout are worth $100. You must hit these items at the correct time (see the green mark on the floor for timing) into the large star in the distance. If you mis-time your hits, the item may go into the ocean, earning you $0. There are also breakable items, such as Plates and Fishbowls, which will decrease you score by $500. These are marked with red price tags. Avoid these at all costs, unless of course the challenge dictates that you aim for them.
Time Bonuses - Time Bonuses are awarded when you check out three consecutive green-marked items. Time Bonuses will be required to hit higher scores and extend your game time. Each Time Bonus will give you +5 seconds. Considering you start with only 60 seconds, this is very much appreciated.
ChallengesThere aren't really any truly difficult challenges. The more difficult ones relate to progressing far in the game, or obtaining certain scores. The conveyor-belt always moves in the same pattern, so after playing for so long, you will hopefully learn the speeds and movements of the conveyor-belt.
Should you need tips for any specific challenges, please ask for them in the comments section. I have created a walkthrough on TrueAchievements, which has tips for all challenges in the game:
Kinect Sports Gems: Prize Driver WalkthroughNote:If you enter Settings, there is an option to 'Clear Missions'.
DO NOT USE THIS OPTION! It will clear your challenges and ALL of your progress, so you will have to start all over, from Level 0.
