The first fight will Metal Gear Ray in the streets.

Stand quite far away from Metal Gear but within reach of his tail swing.

When he swings his tail parry it by facing cn_LS TOWARDS Metal Gear NOT his tail + cn_X

Then press cn_LT when prompted to enter Blade Mode and slice his tail.
