Introduction

Unlike most other Kinect Sports Gems, this game is the same as the Main Event on http://www.trueachievements.com/Kinect-Sports/achieveme....htm. As such, the gameplay is just table tennis. Be the first to reach 11 points, or be two points ahead after 10 points to win.

As with all Kinect Sports Gems, gaining levels is not based on gaining experience or burning calories. To gain levels, you must complete challenges.

For the completion, you will need to obtain all 101 available stars by completing challenges. Most of the challenges will come naturally, but some do require a change in gameplay.

Game Tips

Topspin - A topspin is achieved by moving your arm upwards as you strike the ball. It usually forces your opponent backwards slightly, increases the pace of the game, and potentially gives you a chance to close out the rally.

Backspin - A backspin is achieved by moving your arm downwards as you strike the ball. It usually slows down the game, allowing you to control the pace and positioning of your opponent much more easily. Also use this to force your opponent in to making a mistake.

Smash - A smash is achieved by hitting the ball powerfully if the opponent hits a high bouncing ball. They usually end in a point, or at least another smash, unless you make a mistake. Hitting the ball out wide can give you an opportunity for a smash.

Aces - An ace is when you score from your service. This is usually quite difficult, but there is a challenge that requires you to do three aces in a single game. I found that playing left-handed made this easier. Throw the ball high with your right hand, and then move your left arm in an arch from left to right at a speed. This plays the ball quickly towards your opponent's backhand, and will usually give you an ace. Use this technique to close out matches quickly.

Challenges

The challenges that I found most difficult involves Aces. As a right-handed player, I only achieved two aces over all games. However, when I played as a left-handed player, I achieved four aces out of six attempts in a single game. Throw the ball high with your right hand, and then move your left arm in an arch from left to right at a speed. This plays the ball quickly towards your opponent's backhand, and will usually give you an ace.

Another relatively difficult challenge is to win without conceding a point. For this, you need to play offensively. If you can manage the above ace technique, I recommend using this for easy service points. When returning, play topspin shots and try to force your opponent in to giving you a smash shot opportunity.

The final potentially tricky challenge is completing four smash shots in a row. Play backspin shots to the side to hopefully force your opponent to set you up for a smash. Now smash the ball towards them. Hopefully they will return it for another smash shot. Smash towards them three more times and you should unlock the challenge.

Should you need tips for any other specific challenges, please ask for them in the comments section. I have created a walkthrough on TrueAchievements, which has tips for all challenges in the game:

Note:

If you enter Settings, there is an option to 'Clear Missions'. DO NOT USE THIS OPTION! It will clear your challenges and ALL of your progress, so you will have to start all over, from Level 0.
