Not sure if this achievement is glitchy in a sort of way. I got it dying on the first town trying to get gas. I got to the generator checkpoint and as it loaded, It kept checking off that I traded food for ammo and got batteries for the cop on the roof.

I kept dying because i was trying to run back through the buildings and the hordes kept piling on me. I just saw a solution saying you can climb on the tanker.

In summary, I got it by dying and kept resetting me to my checkpoint and checking it back off. You don't have to do the optional objectives but it was easy to do the 2 and apparently have each time I died, count towards the 25. Good Luck.

**** Updated 04/17/13...more detailed explanation ****

You are in the first level (Sedalia I believe) and you do the 2 optional objectives FIRST BEFORE GOING TO THE GENERATOR. The optional objectives are finding batteries for the police office on the roof (you can't miss him as he calls out to you) and getting food for the sheriff in the jail. The food can be found in one of the two first stores you go into and the batteries for the officer are in the police station office on the first or second floor.

The way I did this was to explore through the first store, find the food. Go up the ladder and talk to the police officer (who says he needs batteries). Go out and talk to Warren Buford and he asks you to find the keys off of Uncle Les. Go into the REAR of the police station (the front is blocked) and clear each individual floors where you find batteries, weapons, etc. On one of the floors you will find the jail which is where you find the locked up sheriff. He says if you bring him food that he will trade ammo. Just end the convo and re-talk to him to give him the food you found. He will give you ammo. Then go straight out and down the fire escape. You can run straight and around the fence to the trailer park to get the keys. NOW, before heading to the gas station, run back through the store and up the roof to give the police officer his batteries. Now you have completed two optional objectives. Then go back down the ladder and to the gas station where Warren tells you to kick on the generators. You can get the gas and run into the hordes. That is where I kept dying trying to get through the stores. It will reset you to the generator BUT it will check off that you have completed two optional objectives EACH time you die. You get this achievement within 13 times of dying.

There is a secret achievement for dying 13 times which you can do as well. Also, do the sprinting until you are tired 10 times in this level.

Hopefully that clarifies the steps for you. Good luck
