I just got this on my first try. Locally with two controllers and split screen. Here's how:

First off, thank you to THE DEADLY DOG for pointing out the location I "boosted" this with. Using his suggestion of the Last Chapter of New Vulcan > Vulcan Escape while I was going for the other achievement "Down But Not Out". After I got that, I tried for this. Use Chapter Select, whether it matters or not; I did - so follow that step.

You run out the circle door and turn right, triggering the cut-scene that places Kirk and Spock (you) automatically under cover. Remember back to few seconds ago to the door you came out. Walking out of the first door, to the left is a HUGE crate.

So, again, with two controllers... after the cut-scene, run Spock (you) out into the middle of where the Gorn are surrounding you in a circle. Pick up the second controller and quickly run Kirk in the opposite direction away and over to the huge crate back behind by the door. Plenty of cover, and the Gorn are far away not to target Kirk.

By now, Spock should be going down or soon; of course let this happen. While waiting to bleed out, they should not be troubling Kirk because he is out of sight. Once Spock's split screen clearly shows he has bled out, now with controller two run Kirk out into the middle of the fire and wait for doom.

The achievement will pop at the final blue "Try Again" screen. Kirk's voice yells "Spock, no!"

If you heard Kirk yell "Spock, no!" and it did not pop specifically at the Try Again screen -- please comment below for others. Unfortunately, you are probably glitched because I believe the game's trigger for showing you did it correctly is that voice "Spock, no!"

I really hopes this helps some people. I was very surprised how easily I popped this achievement after hearing about other gamers' troubles.
