Quest #63: The Devil - 1000 total kills as a Mage

Kills towards this quest can be gained from either Special events, Quick Match, or Co-op. If you have already met the requirement for this quest, the achievement will unlock after your first match.

The mage is the hardest class to master, but has the most pay-off in terms of kill counts. If you're new to using the mage, be sure to play the tutorial. Your general strategy should be to keep a ranged distance from your enemies and use your magic (RT) to slow enemies down who might attempt to get close to you. Swinging your wand should only be done if there's no chance of the enemy hitting back. For a quicker kill at the cost of AP, the RT+A move can do serious damage if done in rapid succession.

With a small cooperative team of 4 you should be able to pull off enough tornados and meteor storms to rack up the 1,000 kills you need for the mage in short time. If you're unfamiliar with the mage, or you're just bad at it, the easiest ways to get kills while you wait for meteor shower/tornado to cool down (or just show up in your skills) is to plant wind traps underneath you and then just stand still on the wind trap and shoot fireballs or lightning at people.

Useful Buffs and Gear
Buffs that will assist in earning this achievement are 'Magic Attack Up', 'Ambush Attack Up', 'Slayer' buffs, weapon 'Effect' buffs, 'Max AP Up', 'AP Recovery Up', any weapon effects, and any skill '+' buffs. It also helps to find a Conserve AP accessory, but nothing will benefit you as much as 'Mobility Speed Up',. To earn buffs for your mage gear you can either play Special events that offer mage gear as rewards or you can play Quick Match and Co-op starting as the mage class and earn and level-up item boxes by playing well (the character class you are playing as when you earn your Item Box Lv. 1 determines what class the item(s) is for).
