This is an individual time-trial race set mostly on flat ground with a few minor up/down slopes over a total of about 32 km.
If you fail to win this stage while doing the full tour or you are doing each stage achievement individually then I highly recommend using either Chris Vroome or Braulio Waggons (both are British and in Team Sky) for this race. F.Cancellara, T.Mertin or possibly A. Contador could be good choices also but I never tried them for this event.
Stay in High gear throughout the entire race and keep pace
at maximum but watch out for a couple of sharp bends. If you get the trajectory right then you should be able to take them at full speed. Putting the Trajectory Show option to ON from the menu can help too if you are unsure.
Occasionally do a steady sprint for 2-3 seconds (tapping 'A' button) when the gradient of the road is roughly level. When the road level starts to dip to downhill then sprint
to build up your speed and then cruise down the slopes. Sprint and use up the last of your energy in the final 2-3km. I NEVER sprinted while going uphill (depletes your yellow bar like crazy) at any time during this race apart from the final 3km because I had a small amount of energy left (yellow bar).
If you fail to win are consuming too much of the yellow energy bar and don't have anything left by the last bit of the race then restart and take it a little easier with the sprinting
This was a tricky one to win (just like Stage 17) as you can't use team tactics, use food/health boosts or take advantage of save files (will not let you save your game during a time-trial race unfortunately) for this one.
Hope this is of some help smile
