Ok, this achievement is slightly misleading. I definitely recommend doing this in single player once you have beaten the 1-million-chip All-pro takedown tournament, and once you've gotten the 'Cool Million' achievement.

You indeed need to buy the 'Pyramid' stack formation, costing 580,050 chips, and make it active. It is unlocked at level 45.

Whilst the achievement says you need to reach the third tier of the pyramid chip stack formation, what you actually need to do is FILL the third tier, i.e, make it so your chip stack is MAXED OUT with the highest-value chip that the game displays, which I believe is about 6.5x the original starting chip amount on the table.

Anyway, for me, it unlocked at 7,736,143 chips, but I did win a 1.8million chip pot to get to that point, so it's very possible it could pop slightly earlier.

Edit #1: According to BipeFlyer you can play a 250-chip ranked ring game and you can get the achievement to pop at about 6,700 chips.

Edit #2: It is very likely that with a recent update, the amount of chips required may have been halved or better in relation to this achievement.
