How to unlock the San Andreas Sightseer achievement

This can be unlocked right after Franklin's intro mission.

Go to Los Santos International Airport at the South West of the map. From the terminal entrance go down a flight of stairs and out onto the runways. Grab one of the light planes and take off.

Leave the area to lose your wanted level. From here I started by tracing the coast. I then flew in a slowly tightening circle (or, more accurately, lop-sided pentagon) to reveal the map.

Use waypoints by pressing "A" on the map to create long straight paths so as to avoid leaving patches of "fog" which you will then need to back track for.

Fly high so as to avoid nasty surprises and use the mini map to keep your wings level and your nose pointed at the waypoint.

This took me a little under an hour. Now I just gotta figure out how to land.

Poat540you will get this naturally if going for 100%. it unlocked for me when doing the submarine nuclear waste missions. I still had large blobs of map that were still hidden so I assume it's based off a % of total map explored

    Hi

The best Way to do this, is with a Airplane or Helicopter. I explore my map after the Airfield Mission (Nervous Ron) with Trevor , then i buy the Airfield and save the Airplane in the new Hangar. (Hangar by Sandy Shores). After every Airplanecrash, i have a new Airplane :)

You see my Map in the Video directly after i earn the Achievement and you see, you must explore the Borders with there Isles and a small Water"Strip" (i hope google give the right word^^ )

Dont forget the Lakes and small Rivers on the Map.

DownInFlames85Thanks for the video. Used it to finish up the outer edges of the map (water).

If you are going for 100% completion don't bother wasting time flying around extra to unlock this achievement. With searching for the letter scraps, nuclear waste, UFO parts, submarine pieces and doing all the other missions, you should cover enough ground to unlock this achievement without doing any extra flying.

*NOTE* You may still have to fly to a few spots after getting 100% completion. This solution was meant as an alternative for people who did not want to fly around the whole map just to unlock this achievement. By waiting until you get 100% completion you will waste much less time flying around to unlock this achievement.

conanerpussThanks for mentioning it though. I added the part that says note just to clear up any confusion for anyone else.
