  I am really sorry but Rockstar has been patching everything. I suggest boosting this achievement through a session on trueachievements. My method was just a little easier to do and required less hassle
  This means step 5 and 6 don't work anymore and have been replaced
  
  
  My original method:
  It's even easier to get with 1 friend. --> You need 4 people incl yourself
  
  1) Set any two seater-landvehicle (so bicycles excluded) race to Rally type.
  2) Have the others prefer the driver role. And prefer yourself to be the co-driver.
  3) start the race without anyone else joining (by setting the lobby system to closed)
  4)You can direct the driver by using left and right on the d-pad. The driver cannot see the checkpoints (hence the purpose of the rally race)
  5) Have the driver quit the session, by switching to a single player character with down on the d-pad. Making you be the only person left on the "Job"
  6) Achievement will unlock when it says "WINNER"
  5) Win the race and the co-driver will unlock the achievement
  
  Extra info: even if you prefer certain roles it might not always assign you to them. So this might take a few tries

  I got this achievement by hosting my own race at the jail, 'Criminal Records'. Choose this race as you do not need a headset for directing the driver because there is only one path to follow.
  
  Go there or highlight the job on your map and press X, host a job, set it to rally race and then hit start.
  
  Make sure to set your own preferred role to co-driver, then hit auto-invite and play.
  
  DO NOT start the job until you have at least four people as you definitely have to beat another team to earn the achievement. The achievement popped for me on the "you finished 1st screen".

  Took me a statistically unlikely number of attempts, but I did it this way. Good if you can't be bothered boosting, and since you can't matchmake by race type. Urgh.

  small side note...if players drop mid race it will still unlock, however you have to start the race with at least 4 people (2 vehicles), if they drop before the race actually starts (eg. vehicle select screen or betting screen) it will start normally but achievement will not unlock at the end, well didn't for me anyway.

  This is easily boosted, or very easy legit if you have a friend and use party chat.
  
  The achievement will not unlock if you aren't winning against another team.
  
  In this mode, the driver can't see checkpoints and is directed by their partner via the dpad, or to make it easy, party chat.
  
  It can also be easily boosted with four players.
  
  I'd recommend choosing Arms Race (under the normal race mode) then change the settings to rally mode.
  
  Then just let your partner direct you, or learn the track then start again and invite a load of randoms. Me and a friend did it this way, and we won by a million miles, as the randoms aren't in party chat.

  I can confirm that you can also unlock this achievement if the other racers leave the race and only you remain with the driver. This happened to me today, I did a rally race at the containers/port area (near the airport, at the south of the map) with 5 other random people, (so 3 cars) and those 4 people didn't know what to do, so after 1 minute, they left the race, leaving only me with my driver.
  
  I helped him with the d-pad around the track and checkpoints and when we finished both laps, I got the achievement because I was the co-driver. As long as you remain in the race and finish 1st (and be the co-driver of course), you can get the achievement :).
