How to unlock the Dialling Digits achievement

  To get this achievement you need to be level 20.
  
  Once you reach level 20 you can call Merryweather and request a air-support unit.
  Provided you have the 5K required, this will net you the 5g achievement.
  
  Edit:
  There appears to be some discretion and when the ability unlocks. As I am aware you have to be level 20 before you will receive the phone call off Merryweather unlocking the air-support, however you may not receive the phone call for sometime afterwards.
  
  I think you have to have visited both Lester and Trevor before you receive the phone call.

  Yeah I got after I visited Trevor, all good! Took some time though cause I got messages and call from others too.

  ^ It is level 20. With level 20, you can call for a helicopter backup. Level 50 unlocks the abilitly to call an airstrike. For this achievement, you can do either one to unlock it.

  This is NOT confirmed information. A lot of people saying you need to be level 20, However I was level 25 when it unlocked. So i'm guessing level 20 is the earliest it unlocks but it can unlock after that.
  
  You'll get a notification telling you its unlocked, then you can phone Merryweather and pay $5000 to get a chopper. If you've unlocked it but it says unavailable, try shooting another player in your game.
  
  Edit: Confirmed, this does not have a particular level it unlocks, all we know is level 20 is the earliest and it can unlock any level after that.

  Maybe it works when you have a bounty on your head. I bought one when I had one, and it popped. I was level 23.

  I do know that if you level up mid mission and keep doing other missions you don't get the unlock until you are back in free roam. That may be why it was a delayed unlock for ya. Either way it is freaking awesome to call mercs on griefers I will tell you that.:)

  Personally for me I unlocked this ability as soon as a hit level 20.
  All you have to do is call up merryweather and request a backup helicopter for $5,000
  and the achievement is yours.

  As the other two guides say, it seems like the level people get this at differs. I didn't unlock this ability until level 35, so if you still haven't got it, just keep leveling up.
  
  Anyways, you'll get a call from Merryweather saying they will provide air support that can be called in for $5000. In your phone you call them and select "Backup Helicopter" and the achievement popped right after you select it. The chopper stays around for 3-5 mins after that.

  At some point after reaching Level 20, you will receive a call from Merryweather, informing you that you can now call for a backup helicopter. This can be done from your in-game phone; open your Contacts, navigate down to Merryweather, and select Backup Helicopter. It will cost you $5000, so I would only suggest using it if you expressly have need for it.
  
  A Buzzard will arrive and circle around you for a while. It will attack any players you also attack. It can also be used in selected Jobs. Many people find it useful while playing Capture. You can deploy it around your base, and it will hover around, picking off any enemy players who approach close to you. It can also provide support in Contact Missions.
