Recommended Core:
For this mission I'm going to go very specific, because otherwise this boss can be a massive pain. You'll want a very fast energy recharge rate on this, and decent boost.You'll also want a sniper cannon for the first little bit, just to take out the small guys. Once that's done, ditch the rifle, it won't be any help from here on out. You'll want a gatling gun as a back-up, as well as the TE-Resistant shield on the other arm. And for the shoulders, definitely CWIS.

As for the boss, he has 4 attacks that I'm aware of. He'll fire the little blue missiles in waves (Hence why you'll want the CWIS), a 360 degree laser barrage (shield), a straight down in a line laser attack (boost/recharge rate), and finally this boss will also launch out little drones which will try to encirlce you and form a laser grid. These little drones are a pain, but with the Recon mode on and the high energy recharge rate, it shouldn't be a big problem to boost away from them, alternatively, a gatling gun works well to take out a few of them. The best time to attack is right between his attacks. He'll let down his guard for a few seconds and you can land lots of good hits. Other than that, just keep the shield up for the lasers and the CWIS on for the missiles and you shouldn't have too much trouble with this boss.

Also, I'm adding this for future reference. But mission 7-4 was giving me massive troubles. I already posted this in the forums, but I thought I'd add it here as well for anyone struggling with this mission or wanting to read up on what to expect.

I found a solution that made it more or less, easy. Here it is.

Left arm: AM/ACA-218. Autocannon (With 3 points in power).
Cost: 60,000
Shoulders: Muratori mld. 2. Reserve Magazine.
Cost 15,000
Left/Right Bay: None. But I brought along a couple of HEAT Machine Guns just in case.
Cost 53,000 x 2

Total Cost: 1,066,000

With this build I have an AP of 61,957. A total of 1,500 rounds of ammo per autocannon (default is 600). And a TE resistance of 4,692 (most enemies in this area are TE). Lock-on has a decent range and you can even spray the sky a bit to get a few pot shots.

This handy little guy, with his long ranged attacks and decently powerful sniper cannon arms, will do a decent amount of damage.
