After completing Memory 1 of Sequence 4, you'll gain access to your Hideout - located at Great Inagua (845,468) in the Gibara zone, on the east side of the map - along with the ability to upgrade it. It takes 90,700R to "fully upgrade your hideout" (it is not necessary to upgrade everything at once).

There are 6 separate structures on the island that require upgrades. They are as follows (Name, Cost, Location and Ability/Perk unlocked if applicable):
Harbormaster 500R (located off the main pier, to the left) - Unlocks Harbormaster purchases.
General Store 700R (at the foot of the pier, to the right) - Unlocks General Store purchases.
Tavern 3,500R (off the main pier, to the right) - Unlocks Tavern purchases (and a Cadaver location for an additional 200R. Not required for the achievement).
Campfire 7,000R (on the beach, left of the pier) - Unlocks the ability to hire Drunk Pirates for free.
Brothel 15,000R (past the General Store, on the left) - Unlocks the ability hire Dancers for free.
Manor 64,000R (follow the path, bear left at the fork, atop the hill) - Note: This structure requires 3 separate upgrades (Facade 6,000R, followed by Tower & Gardens 18,000R and then finally the Guest House 40,000R). There are no perks associated with these upgrades beyond cosmetic changes.

90K seems a like lot early on, but if you utilize Kenway's Fleet (a mini-game that also unlocks after completing Memory 1 of Sequence 4 - more on this later), you'll have plenty of cash soon enough. My advice, don't concern yourself with this too much early on. The return-on-investment is terrible. You're much better served upgrading your equipment and the Jackdaw, and parlaying the benefits/proceeds into funding your Fleet progression. I ran out of things to upgrade on the Jackdaw (in the absence of plans) somewhere between Sequence 8 and 9. Oh, and it's 'Fixed That For You', in case you were wondering. ;) Hope this helps.

Some quick tips regarding Kenway's Fleet...
Salvaging ships is your best source for Gemstones (the Fleet's main currency). The further south you go (in-game), the better the plunderable ships (though they'll put up more of a fight). Secure routes (green) before assigning missions (via Ship Battles). Concentrate on tackling the Routes with exclamation marks next to them first. This will give you access to new cities and new (more prosperous) routes. Side note for any completionists out there: This will also help in acquiring one of the more time consuming Abstergo Challenges; Golden Boy's "unlock all Kenway's Fleet destinations". It is also the only way to acquire 3 of the Treasure Maps (20, 21 and 22) which are issued as Rewards. If you have access to a tablet, I highly recommend you download the Companion App which enables you to manage your fleet (amongst other things) when you're away from the Xbox (requires a Uplay account).
