Getting Run! takes place in two stages. The first stage is the normal part of the game. Landers will descend from the top of the screen and take away all the humans, slowly turning into Mutants. During this phase it shouldn't be too hard to avoid the enemies. As they turn into mutants, try and arrange it so they change just off the left side of your screen and slowly move right. This will cause them to follow you but never quite catch you.

Eventually, when all the Humans get taken away (30-50 seconds or so) the planet will erupt and all of the Landers will instantly turn into Mutants. Thankfully they will also be moved so that they are equally distributed on the map except for on your screen (however, be aware that any shots they fired before this point will still exist so don't hit one). At this point, you want to try and stay in between the two groups to the left and right. If they start move to the left, move left with them. Same for the right. You should actually manage to not get shot at until the baiters spawn.

The Baiters are the real tough part. You can try to deal with them in the space you have or you can try to run away from them. They are faster than you though so every so often when they are closing in to ram you, you need to pull up or down and change directions. The Baiter should have trouble keeping up with you when you do this. If you then quickly turn around you should have a shot at one. If not, you can just keep doing this twist to keep avoiding the Baiters.

At this point, it's all about balancing the Mutants and the Baiters. If you had plenty of room, you could just keep twisting away from and then shooting the Baiters and if it wasn't for the Baiters you could just stay between the Mutants. Hopefully this will put you in the 50+ seconds range and so you'll just need a little bit of luck to get the rest of the way there.
