I had to get creative with this one because not only are there no tips or useful information out there for this achievement, but there is a HUGE luck factor to this. Practice and skill will only get you so far because if you get a bad set of bricks it's all over.
First, max out Sprocket's supa weapon by completing level 32 in the story mode. She is the best for this because of the 1 min cooldown. The only drawback to her weapon is that it auto targets bricks to destroy with no input from the player, so it may wipe the board completely or barely do anything. Like I said earlier, there's a huge luck factor to this achievement.
The first 3 mins are easy. All you have to do is set up a nuke brick of any color to be destroyed and blow it at the last possible second before it's game over. The speed of the game is determined by how many bricks are destroyed, so for the beginning phase you want to be destroying as little bricks as possible. This is only effective for the first 3 mins because at the 3 min mark the purple bricks come out and blowing a nuke brick at this point will not clear enough bricks.
So at the 3 min mark, it's time to go wild. Super charged bricks are the key to victory here because their explosive power will clear out bricks fast. You should be trying to make as big a combo as possible to really wipe the board out. Keep an eye out for any column or row nukes, you'll want to set them off as soon as possible to buy you some time. Always be on the lookout for the star bricks, setting those bricks off will keep the colored bricks super charged. Save your supa weapon for the last possible moment when you have no moves to make. Hopefully it will destroy enough bricks for you to last another minute before you get to use it again.
Now, here's the creative part to this solution.
Play the best you can until you get to 8 mins (or as far as you can go). At this point, pause the game and grab a video camera. Point it at the TV and quickly unpause and pause the game again. Playback the video and pause it at the frame where the game is unpaused. You now have a still image of the game board and all the time in the world to plan out the best move! Figure out your best move, making sure to prioritize the tallest column and any star bricks or nuke bricks. Grab the camera again and start recording. Make your move and pause it again. Analyze your next move. Rinse and repeat until you get to 9 mins. By doing this, you're essentially playing the game frame by frame at super human speed.
On my run, I made it to 7:58 before running out of moves and had to use the supa weapon. For the rest of the game, I used the camera to plan out every move. I made it to 8:58 before completely running out of moves, but the supa weapon came back just in time to push me over 9 mins.
