I have found an "easy" way to get enough credits to buy a pack. Now don't expect this to only take five minutes, but after finishing the below steps up to step 4, it should only take about 15-20 minutes to get 500 credits to get a pack. This is tremendously shorter than continually throwing nine-inning no-hitters on legendary to earn wild cards, and hoping you receive enough high value cards to sell to reach 500 credits.

**Note: I have heard of the game not letting you sell cards, but I did not have this issue as it let me sell cards without any problems. If the game won't let you sell cards, then this solution will not work until you use a different device (memory card or USB drive) for a brand new VIP save.** - Thanks to 'Lord of Orion' for this news

A couple things before we begin:

Make sure you don't already have the "big head" card. Check on "my cards" tab on main screen and its one of the special cards. If you already have it, sell it.

Also, if you already have a franchise started with a stacked team, and you have played at least ten games, and you have it saved BEFORE the home run derby, then that will save you a lot of time, as you can skip down to step 4.
Step 1 - Edit the roster of the team you are wanting to use for a franchise. I used the Yankees as they are already stacked. This means edit all of your players (pitchers and batters) to the max on everything (fielding stats and appearance options don't matter, and you can leave those as is.) Save this roster.

Step 2 - On your "My 2k8" tab, change the innings to "1". Also, disable injuries, notifications, trades (and basically anything that pops up as a notification when you sim).

Step 3 - Start a franchise with the team you have maxed out from step 1. Go to your schedule and play each of the first ten games at one inning each ( I played 20 because I was trying to get the other achievements as well). After playing at least 10 games save your franchise again (make sure it says you've played at least 10 games in the bottom right corner.)

Step 4 - Now, go back to your schedule and sim up to the game before the home run derby. Save your franchise again, but this time save it as another name. I named mine "allstarbreak" as this will be the save you will be using again and again. After you have it saved, go to the day after the all star game and sim to this day. It should pause and ask you if you want to stop, just say no. You should see a ticker at the bottom of the screen start scrolling and say that you have earned the "big head" card for having the most all stars. This is key. If it doesn't, then you need to go back to your first saved franchise and start over, as you need this card.

Step 5 - After you have received this card, EXIT WITHOUT SAVING. From the main menu go to "My Cards" and go to your new cards. You should see the big head card. Sell it for credits (you might get a black, gold, or platinum one - 25 for black, 50 for gold, 75 for platinum). Afterwards, exit. The game should automatically save.

Step 6 - Go back to your "allstarbreak" franchise and load it up again, and sim to the day past the all star game. You should receive this card again.

Step 7 - Rinse, repeat steps 5 and 6, and keep loading up your "allstarbreak" franchise, sim past all star break, exit, sell the card, over and over until you have 500 credits.

I stumbled upon this when I had 92 cards and needed to buy a pack to try and get a hundred cards total (I was tired of throwing legendary no hitters and only getting 5 cards at a time after playing for an hour). Just keep reselling this big head card over and over, and you will eventually have 500 credits to buy a pack. I got a couple golds and one platinum as well and this will make it go faster.

Good luck!
