How to unlock the War Engine Master achievement

The Gatling Gun/Rocket Launcher is an idle weapon that overthrows the role of the Ballista/Flower Cannon. Usually the Cleric is able to throw down materials needed for the former weapons, but the Engineer is the only class that can upgrade these weapons to the latter.

While this achievement can be done with any class, the fastest way to get 100 builds is to play as the Engineer, which is the only class that can lay down the materials needed for either the Gatling Gun or Rocket Launcher using the Update skill. Of course, building the Gatling Gun is slightly faster.

You are allowed to build and destroy on the same spot, so the safest way would be to stay in your castle. However, if more than two people are building, you may not get credit for that build yourself. You'll know if it counts as you'll get 25EXP for each successful build. Use Crash Work in conjunction to get more builds per match.

If you do nothing but this for the whole 15 minutes, it should only take around five full games to earn. Remember to watch out for bots!

Thanks to Masta Skor 16 for collaborating together on this!

Update: If you want this faster without having to wait for it as a skill while leveling up in-game, you can now add Update+ to your equipment as a buff. As of yet it's only available through Happy Cards. Thanks to lightsup55 for the details.

    LAFTAThis is so boring...

Mike United 007maybe mention The Gatling Gun is a buildable mounted weapon which may be found in all places a Ballista may be built, but requires an Engineer to upgrade the materials, and The Rocket Launcher can be found in locations where a Flower Cannon is able to be built, but requires an Engineer to upgrade the materials.

A little obvious to some, as it comes with the title update with the new classes. but....some asked what map there on?

lightsup55Another thing to note in the solution:

The Update+ buff has been added to the game (as of January 24, 2014). There are some items obtainable through Happy Cards that have this as a permanent buff (orange), but it is possible to obtain a movable version (white) on any Cleric helmet with buff slots.

ChaosAlertI've updated with the info, and amended with more basic information per what Mike had said about it. If there's more game updates in the future regarding this, throw them my way and I'll change it accordingly.

ThatiswhatidoeSI get 36 exp when building the Gatling gun?

ChaosAlertMost likely you have an EXP Up buff on one of your items. Considering not many people use this buff as it's a complete waste in competitive situations, 25EXP is the standard.

Christoph 5782When I got this achievement; I had built 153 Gatling guns so the in game tracker (that you can not see) might be a little bugged. I also did all of these in Co-op until the last one in which I got the achievement, I did that in Quick match, so it could very well be that the achievement will only unlock in Quick Match. Just something else to note, the achievement unlocks at the end of the match.

Neptune DiamondDamn, this achievement is annoying. The building and destroying in your castle method is a good and easy method, but what makes this achievement a pain in the a** is that every single time I start building then a stupid bot comes over and "helps" me, and then gets the credit for the build. Anyway good solution. 1+ from me

EthigyGreat solution. I never seemed to have any problems with the AI taking credit for the build. Although, the Crash Work skill never seemed to work properly.

napoearthYeah, the bots are bad. They’re taking close to half of my builds.
