  In order to get this challenge, you need to complete Colosseum Warrior and Veni, Vidi, Vici achievements.
  
  I've noticed you don't have to play in every arena, only in these locations:
  
  Garden
  Market
  Castle
  Oasis
  Sandstorm
  Rabbit
  Wickerman
  Arch
  Black Forest
  Stronghold
  Courtyard
  
  So play all of these locations in the arena game mode and the achievement will unlock.
  I unlocked colosseum warrior achievement playing six or seven of the ten arenas.

  Can you play in the Round to Round mode and still get this, or is it only Arena?

  Oddly for me, I had both achievements and had completed the game on easy and the challenge did not register. I was sure I had played all locations to the point of replaying them and writing them down when completed.
  
  I replayed the first level, upping the difficulty level to Soldier (from easy) and the challenge popped right after the "been there done that" achievement .

  you can play round to round mode.play every map and win each round on them.
  the ruin map is not needed.
  challange did not track progress for me but popped after i played the last location.
