    I just got this achievement by playing Sequence 3 Mission 2 over and over. Load up the mission on replay and keep freeing pirates until you reach 500. The mission will reset your crew meter back to zero so don't worry about having a full crew!

    Be warned: This will take a while as you only get about 20 or so each time you play the mission, what I had done was save this for almost last and then used this tactic to mop up the last crew members I needed!

    You CAN do this after the main game has been completed as the achievement is cumulative between all of your play time. Good luck!

    radnonnahsAwesome guide. Needed ~100 more after the main game. You don't even need to finish the mission, just free more than 15 and then pause, and restart the memory

    If you are having problems getting this achivement fight vs big ships and when you assault them wait for your crew to jump to the other ship and then fire the cannon you will kill both enemys and allies and you will be able to go to a tavern and contract a bigger amount of pirates.

    This will be achieved overtime as you play through the game. Take every opportunity to rescue pirates from fights and from the sea. Upgrade the jackdaws crew quarters early in the game as this will help when recruiting and replacing your crew lost when boarding ships.
