At first, I was trying to follow the walkthrough (note: put the game on easy - no reason not to) and work towards multiple achievements at once. This worked pretty well until the only three achievements that I had left were this one, and the two 300 win (single player) achievements.

I found going for this achievement particularly tedious when coupled with the 300 Ring Out wins, as you would only get 2 short range slams per match (i.e, one per round).

So, what I started doing was maximizing the number of short range slams that I got per match. I found that the most that I could get per match (provided that I didn't lose a round via Ring Out) was 10 if I ended the match with a KO, and 9 if I wanted to end the match via Ring Out.

I supposed that you could use a variety of fighters coupled with a variety of opponents, but here is the set-up that I used:

Fighter: Faergas (could be a terrible one to use, since he charges Ki slower than most, but I liked his slam).
Opponent: Maze
Totem: Horse
Ring: Dojo (i.e., I usually ended the match via Ring Out - easiest in the Dojo).

Basically all you have to do is charge you Ki until it is full and then do a Short Range Slam, while intentionally losing every "smash off". The achievement app tracks your progress even if you lose the smash off, and if you lose the smash off, you will significantly decrease the damage you do to your opponent - thus allowing you to get way more slams per match. Although you could use you horse totem (which speeds up Ki-charging) either round, I always used it in Round 2.

Unfortunately, there is no quick way to do this, but I found that this significantly reduces the time it takes. Using this method, you will get approximately 1 percent every 30-40 seconds (it's about 3 rounds every 2 minutes). The biggest pain in the ass regarding this achievement is that sometimes, right as you are about to perform the short range slam, your opponent will back up, thus wasting one of your slams. Also, sometimes, your opponent will end up knocking you out of the ring with the stick. Other than that, it is relatively easy and way quicker than I originally thought it would be.
