  About half way into the campaign you will encounter enemies who toss dynamite at you. They will hide behind cover, and then pop out and throw it. You will know it's dynamite because it will have a red blinking symbol near it warning you something is about to explode. Simply equip the Shotgun and wait until the dynamite is above and in front of you and blast away. May take a few tries but you got this!

  shot about 10 bundles of dynamite in the air but still no achievement

  same. i only have this and the 'Chatterbox' achievement left so i made a new game and i'm at the part in the story where you're in shantytown and they chuck endless amounts of dynamite and i swear i got 6-7 dynamites that without a doubt i shot them and around +10 where i've shot them but the explosion hits me and i stagger.
  i really don't know what to do at this point, has this been glitchy for anyone else or is this just me?
  
  EDIT: nvm on that last part, just saw a thread for this game with people having similar experiences but with different achievements so it seems like the game being buggy isn't anything new
  
  EDIT 2: Just unlocked this, all you have to do is delete your game save data everywhere. This should allow you to unlock the achievement now whenever you shoot some dynamite outta the air

  I couldn't hit anything with the shotgun, assault rifle I was able to finally get one out of the air in shanty town

  The first time you can go for this achievement is right after the plane crash. If you miss, you can reload the checkpoint. You will have to watch at least half of the cut scene like shown in the video or he will not throw the dynamite.
  
  Do not run near the ramp on the other side of the enemy. You may trigger a checkpoint and will have to go for this later. It's easier to wait, but this is for people who want to knock this out right away.

  CONFIRMED that this can be done after completion of the story, just hit continue and go to shanty town and there will be enemies there that will throw explosives at you.

  It is great that you point this out but it is merely a comment that adds to the detailed solutions that are out there. Please feel free to use my video to show where exactly in Shanty town that one can get this done.
