Start a new game. Select master difficulty as the game's mode. Finish the game. The achievement will unlock.Important
: Since playing on master custom difficulty stacks with playing on master difficulty, it is best to combine this achievement with the following one. Otherwise, you would need an additional playthrough.
The Something to Prove achievement in THIEF worth 554 pointsFinish the game with a custom difficulty of 700 points or more
Begin a new game. Select Custom difficulty. Choose Master as the base. Add enough difficulty modifiers so the point total will exceed 700. I recommend the following:
--No Focus (Focus ability disabled) - 50 points : ON
--Stealth Takedowns Only (You cannot perform combat takedowns) - 50 points : ON
--Specialty Arrows Only (Only Blunt, Water, Fire and Rope Arrows enabled) - 50 points : ON
--No Food or Poppies (Food and Poppies are not consumable) - 100 points: ON
--Expensive Resources (Cost of resources are increased) - 70 points : ON
--No Upgrades (Non-critical tools, gear upgrades, and trinkets are disabled) - 100 points : ON
--No Kills or Knockouts (If human/animal is harmed in any way, mission fails) -170 points : ON
--No Alerts (If human/animal detects you, mission fails) - 145 points : ON
Note: In order to unlock the Something to Prove achievement, you must include at least 700 points of difficulty modifiers.
Play the game. You will unlock both this achievement, Hard Times, and the Something to Prove achievement for playing on Custom Master at over 700 points. The walkthrough provides a very streamlined roadmap to get through the game on the Custom Master difficulty.
