EDIT: The following explanation was posted in the comments. Thanks!

Just an FYI the in game counter is goofy. It does not count your bricks until you forge something with them. For example: if it says I currently have 12 bricks with 145/250 on the right, and I use 7 to forge something, I will be left with 5 bricks in my possession and the counter will go up to 152/250.

Mithril bricks are silver bricks that you will get after missions or in middle-earth. I would recommend going for them after you have completed the campaign and have already unlocked some of the additional characters to avoid some of the backtracking. If you want to check your progress push the cn_back button.

There are different requirements you need to fulfill to get your mithril bricks:

    Story-mode or free-play :

    1. complete each story chapter (16 bricks in total)
    2. get master-burglar in all 16 chapters (16 bricks in total)
    3. collect a schematic in each chapter (16 bricks in total)
    4. collect all minikits in each chapter (160 kits with 16 bricks in total)
    5. collect four treasure iteams in each chapter (64 items with 16 bricks in total)

You will get 80 mithril bricks in story-mode or free play

The other 170 can be found in Middle-earth. You need to do diffferent things here as well:

    Middle-earth

    1. complete fetch quests, which are marked with a "?" on your map.
    2. compete puzzles or mini-games

keep in mind that some of the bricks are visible on the map right away but can only be reached with certain characters or at a certain time of the day (in-game of course).

If you have trouble with a specific brick or a specific schematic/treasure item, please refer to the link of the forum post on xboxachievement.org below. There you'll find everything you need to help you out. Credit goes to HappyThumbsGaming for this exellent written guide.

tibor bSeems to have glitched for me too. Brick counter is stuck but I keep collecting bricks.

It seems to have happened after I resumed the game instead of a restart and I completed 2 quests and received no brick for them. Once I noticed this I quit the game, restarted it and I am now getting bricks from quests but the counter is stuck and the quests that did not give me the bricks are no longer available.

In game the counter is stuck at 176 but here it says I have 194 bricks which seems to be about right. I am guessing I should get the block collection achievement but the forging will not be possible because of the missing bricks.

vOiDHas someone an idea how to fix the bug that I don't get this achievement? I completed the game with 100% but it doesn't pop up...
EDIT: okay, nevermind... I just started a level and the achievement popped up

CorleoneTo avoid problems, I closed the game, disconnected the internet from the xbox, started the game again and fulfilled the remaining requirements for the achievement. Then I close the game and reconnect the internet. If the pop-up doesn't appear right away, I look at the notifications. If nothing has appeared yet, I just delete the save game from the console only, start the game, sync it to the cloud, start a level in free play mode, get some studs and save and quit.

I unlocked all the loseable achievements this way, without having to restart the whole game again.
