    Just to flesh out the description for this achievement a little more...because its a lot of work if you have forgotten one small detail.

    level = state/test (AU) county/test (EU)
    start = group stages
    over = 6

    Now the way I did it was play the two top teams from each group which = 8 teams in total.

    The critical thing to remember is that not only do you save your tournament progress but *****YOU MUST SAVE YOUR PROFILE (GO TO THE PAVILLION) EACH TIME YOU FINISH A SESSION (ie turn off your xbox)******

    It may not be essential to save your profile THAT often, but i did and it unlocked. Also, dont worry about not being able to save once you have won the ICC world cup (it doesnt let you) - just race to the pavillion and save your profile!

    Also.....for those struggling to beat some of the better teams, if you bowl pretty much as wide as you can and on or beyond the crease, it makes it very hard for them to hit you and can speed up the progress cause you only need to chase a small total.

    Hope this helps some people.

    Sticks PrimeAdding to Jacky's solution...
    - Always field first, the AI will always elect to bat first so this helps when you lose the toss.
    - I was using Defensive 2 (with third man) for fielding restrictions and a mix of Defensive 4 and 6 (I think... Third man, deep point, deep square leg, deep mid wicket and staggered ring field) for spin and pace bowlers respectively with no restrictions. This was mainly due to the fact that when bowling with spin defensively, these were the areas the AI hit if the accuracy was off. For pace bowling by varying standard pace ball, slower pace ball, and leg cutter aiming nothing to the inside of the batter's off stump when it reached the batter just shorter than half volley made the AI mistime 35% of their shots to third man and 40% to gully resulting in 1 a ball at worst.
    - Bowling pace to left hand batsmen, pitch the ball on off stump short to on a length and bowl off cutters. If they don't have full confidence, only top batsmen will score 4's through backward point with the fielding set up as above otherwise they'll look like Z-Grade players.
    - At State/County level I've yet to need to slog. Aim dead down the ground for anything full and if the accuracy falls too far either side, then aim for cover drive/mid-wicket punch. For shorter lengths, always get inside and pull/hook as the AI likes to bowl a lot of slow off-cutters that drop your confidence heaps if you get hit.

    I could go on for the rest of the day but it's much more fun seeing the ridiculous teams make it through to Super 8's. I've won with WI and PAK so far and the first time, SA, NZ and ENG didn't make it. Second time I played ZIM in the Final...

    FanciestDragoonWhy would anyone complain about spending 20-25 hours to unlock an achievement in a cricket game?bare in mind a test match lasts 5 days of 6 hours and loads of time ends in a draw can you really expect anymore?

    One tip not mentioned in the other solutions is that you can afford to lose a couple of games in the super 8 stage. If you bat first, you can run everybody out in 10 balls and let the AI win in one ball. It turns a 15 minute game into a 5 minute game, and provides a tiny, tiny scrap of variation.

    For the record, each world cup is 3 group games, 6 super 8 games, the semi final and the final. That's a total of 88 games, which each will take 15-20 minutes to complete.

    jacky rooster has it all down - I would like to say for the record that after I'd won with 4 teams I tried the rest with two controllers, I can assure you it doesn't work, which frankly is a great pity.

    The game itself is OK, this is just a terrible, dull achievement. Most important thing is to field, always field, you won't get them out in 6 overs but you are likely to chase down the total within an over against the weak teams, therefore saving valuable time. Also don't try to take wickets - try and get the batsman's confidence down and he won't be able to score, and then you can bowl the normal 'green dot' line and get the keep to take it, which again is quicker than the slips.

    For the record the achievement doesn't pop on the screen where your team is celebrating with the trophy, it is on the next screen when you have the static image of the trophy which says 'congratulations, you've won the trophy' etc etc.
