Difficulty : Medium
Length: Medium

Update (August 2nd 2015)
A game update removed 2 Assassination missons and replaced them with 2 Merchant missions. See Tecstar70's comment for tips on how to beat them. Thanks for the contribution.

This achievement requires to reach 100% synchronization on Grand Bahama, which is the 5th region (not counting the prologue). I found the main mission to be the most challenging so far, that's why I want to write this guide. At the moment of writing this guide, I don't have the real perk names in front of me, so I go with my memory or I will simply describe the perk. Also, when I mention a perk, I assume it's fully upgraded. You should have plenty of gold here. Or simply do the races in this zone, they give 6000 gold.

To reach 100% sync, you need to complete the main mission, races (boat icon) with optional objectives, assassination (skull icon) with optional objectives. You need to get all 12 treasures, get all 6 files in bottles, stop 5 slavers, save 10 drowning men, get all viewpoints.

Main mission
Up to that point, I was using the Man-O-War as it is a beast in combat. However, I strongly discourage to use it for this main mission. I did actually use it, but couldn't complete the main mission with it. I finally used the Fearless frigate, and I will break down the main missions to make it easier.
1- Simply follow that other boat. Strangely, he takes so many detours instead of going straight for its destination. Go as fast as you can, he will adapt his speed for you.
2- Go toward the lighthouse while avoiding the mortar. Easy
3- Swivel shot the lighthouse 5 times while it shoots mortar. I actually thought this was quite hard, it took me few tries to get it first with my Man-O-War. Second time I was there with the frigate, I had the Swivel pro perk equipped and upgraded, but I didn't feel it made any difference.
4- That race was actually the real problem with the Man-O-War. Even with perks to increase my speed in daylight and the perk to improve maneuverability, that humongous ship isn't fast enough and it's way too big to ship between mines. With rogue winds surprising you, it's very hard to do. Maybe with the Iron Sails perk (reduce effect of rogue winds), it could be possible. When I got there with the frigate (and Iron Sails perk), it was very easy.
5- Avoid enemy ships line of sight. Actually quite easy.
6- Attack the ship without sinking it. Quite easy, just be careful when it's close to low-health.
7- Attack the huge ship without hitting your friend's ship. You just have to lower it's health a bit before a cut scene appears.
8- Sink that ship. Blackbeard actually weakened it a bit and added 6 weak points. At first, I thought I simply had to it them all, but you simply need to sink it however you want (weak points do help). This ship has this huge unavoidable attack and deals a lot of damage, so you can abuse a flaw in the game here. Have the Instant Reload and Critical hit perks equipped. Select any attack and you can wait as long as you want for your perks to cooldown and reuse it. So you can select the normal cannons and wait for the instant reload to cooldown. Once it's done, fire your cannons, use the instant reload and shoot all you've got except the last weapon and start to wait again. This way, he will attack less often and you will damage it much more and make this fight quite easier.

Race missions
I use the second ship (Wanderer), this ship can get be upgraded to get a speed rating of 4 which is more than enough for the races. You don't need to buy the 200000 gold ship for a speed rating of 5, that's a lot of gold to farm. Remember, you don't need to complete each optional objectives in the same run. I suggest to go first without boost to get to know the race a little more and aim for a No-Damage, No-Boost race. Then, on the next try, use your boost as much as possible to beat the required time. The Iron Sail perks could be used to make it easier, but I never needed it.

Assassination Missions
Use the Man-O-War for these, it deals a lot of damage and that's what we want. There's a new optional objective here, kill the target only with mortal. The usual take no damage and target time optional objectives are still there.
First, we aim for no damage and target time. Use the perks Instant Reload, Critical hit, Increased Damage, Additional bullets. For some of these, reaching the target without getting detected is hard with the slower Man-O-War, so I used the perk to reduce effect of Slow down zones and worked fine. Reach your target. First, break his attack. Then, use your cannons, canister shot and swivel shot (even without target), use instant reload and unleash all you've got, it should sink without any chance of attacking again. I suggest to use the Critical hit with the mortar.
Second, to kill them using only mortar, we will get attacked quite few times. I used the perk to reduce the width of their attack. Things to notice here is their attack patterns are always the same (or mirrored). If I remember correctly, you must move like that : cn_left No Move cn_right cn_right cn_left or the mirror of this, you know it after their first attack. The goal is not to be hit too much. Use your mortar with critical, use instant reload when you can and sink it.

Lost Files
Easy to find

Kill the ship, they're big in this region but shouldn't be such a problem

Equip the perk to increase the chance of map. You still have to sink a lot of ships.

Drowning man
Use perk to increase chance of dynamic events. Use perks to keep him alive longer.

Use perk to increase change of dynamic events.
