This is a list of advice you should keep in mind while going through the Raid.
If you want to spend 10+ hours going in blind you can, but if not, these tips are here to help you.

Until I finish the game, I will try to keep this updated as Bungie changes things. If you find something that clearly isn't working, Bungie has likely made a fix addressing it. Rather than downvoting, simply leave a comment and I will try to address it as soon as I can.

This is a Raid Guide for the Vault of Glass

Information about this Guide:
I've done my best to include every strategy and detail you will need in order to conquer Raid in a text form. While videos are great, sometimes they don't explain the strategy involved. Plus, if you are like me, then you prefer knowing what the strategy is but you want to see things for yourself the first time through, rather than watching a full walkthrough beforehand.

This is a long guide, if you bear with it, you will understand the strategies you need and you should hopefully be able to convey them and lead a team through the Vault of Glass.

While I understand I'm long winded when I could easily say "stand on ____ and then kill stuff", it was my hopes that following this guide will eventually allow you to get the
Destiny (Xbox 360)Flawless RaiderThe Flawless Raider achievement in Destiny (Xbox 360) worth 252 pointsComplete a Raid without anyone in your fireteam dying.
after practicing with a team and getting the techniques down.

There is more than 1 strategy to completing each section of the Raid, all of which are valid, or were valid when the strategy was originally written. Some strategies are easier than others.
Some strategies are purely just for getting the job done (such as what you will need to complete Raid on Hard Mode), while others are designed for efficiency (such as what you will need for Flawless Raider). While I may not highlight all the possible strategies, I will do my best to share my knowledge with all of you.

Before you read on, I have attempted to layout most of this guide in list form.
In order to avoid confusion with how I break down lists, they follow a structure similar to:
• Top-Level Bullet
- - • Sub-Level Bullet
- - - - • Sub-Sub-Level Bullet
I do this because unfortunately indention code does not work here:

.
If you want to view the Guide with forum-style formatting, I also wrote it on the forums over at the 405th, the Halo Costuming group. The Guide can be seen here:
(EDIT: The above link is not up to date with my guide here on TA, sorry!)

If you make a video using the tips provided here, please post a link to it in the comments below! smile

I really hope that this guide helps some of you Trueachievement Hunters.
Please feel free to let me know any tips, hints, secrets that I may have left out via comments below so that I can improve this guide.

I said it above, but if anyone can provide over-the-top map views of each area, I will gladly highlight and mark all the strategies and positions for each area and each phase.

NOTE: This Guide has been written by a player who uses a Titan (primarily) and Warlock with both subclasses maxed out. I have also played through the Raid as a Bladedancer, I don't recommend it....

One thing I will add is that on Vault of Glass you CAN knock yourself out at the end when whomever deploys the shield pops it up if you're using a rocket launcher. We stuck to sniping and it seemed to work out better for us. toast
