General guidelines and tips to make this easier:
- Set AI difficulty level to Amateur
- Set race distance to shortest possible: 25%. That's 15 laps on average (ranging from 11 for Spa to 18 for Monaco). More or less 25 minutes for each race.
- Set race length to Short weekend
- Choose one of the top teams Mercedes or Red Bull (Ferrari isn't bad either). If you need the Constructor's title as well, pick Mercedes and stay with them until the end.
- Skip Practice
- Skip Qualifying. You will start in last position but with the AI on Amateur and race distance 25% you will have more than enough time to come 1st and win
- It's okay to skip a few races as long as you finish the championship in First after the last race. By skipping I mean choose "Retire from session" from the race menu. I personally skipped a few races in the rain
- Check the weather before the race and choose a Quick Car Set-up suited to the weather conditions (although this doesn't really matter on Amateur you will win easily anyway)
- Keep winning races and after race 10 at Germany you will be offered a contract with another top team. Accept it for another achievement. You will retain all your points so far so don't worry about that. Watch out if you need the Constructor's title though, you may want to refuse the contract. Apparently some people have set Auto save to off so they can accept it which will unlock the achievement, dashboard immediately, quit out, restart and resume with the original team
- The last race at Abu Dahbi gives double points. So bear that in mind if you want to skip it, you should be more than 50 pts ahead of the driver in second place before the last race.
- Last tip: When racing in the rain, press
to shift up early and avoid wheelspin (with gears on Semi-automatic).
For reference here are the points earned at each race (x2 for the last race) for the first 5 drivers:
Winner: 25 pts
Second: 18 pts
Third: 15 pts
Fourth: 12 pts
Fifth: 10 pts
Etc.
