The letters are used to progress the story and are automatically placed on the fireplace iircPosted by Lavindathar on 24 Mar 16 at 23:51 achievement is not glitched - it is just MISSABLEthe only letter which was on the fireplace in my playthrough - was from Mycroft I think, not from any of the persons I put in jail.+ you're missing that in 3 cases characters can DIE/SUICIDE before you arrest them, so there will be NO ONE TO WRITE A LETTERS. But In my case only that jew from the garden hung himself. I don't believe it's part of the story for the letters, but haven't finished the game yet. However i can see no evidence on online forums to support the ida that it's part of the story to receive them.
