Self Defense achievement in Alien: Isolation

The quickest way I found to get this cheevo is to load up Ch. 7 - Seegson Synthetics.

From the start, go through the vent system until you get to the end and drop out of the vent. There is a save point right here, so use it. Once you have saved, you can kill the 3 hostiles a couple of different ways. These are solutions if you are NOT going for

The Mercy or Prudence? achievement in Alien: Isolation worth 272 pointsComplete the game without killing any humans

- You can run in guns-a-blazin', but you may get killed before you kill all 3. The gunfire will attract the Alien.

- You can enter the vent on the right, proceed through, and come out the other side. From here, throw a flare to attract all 3 humans. Craft a pipe bomb and when they group up, toss the pipe bomb at them. Get killed by the Alien, repeat.

- Craft a pipe bomb and run to the center of the room where 2 of the humans are at and detonate the pipe bomb. The 3rd human will be to the right of the center station and most likely out of range.

- If you feel the need to be stealthy, you can craft a smoke bomb, toss a flare to group the humans, toss the smoke bomb, then approach them and crack their skulls with the maintenance jack.

- Kill the humans through the story's natural progression.

Do you need to save to collect the kills, or can you kill some humans, die and reload, and then kill the same ones again to do it all in one place?

To help others. YES, you can get both this and "Mercy or Prudence" for not killing ANY other humans. I got every single achievement in 1 play-through except "One Hundred Times Too Many" because that one is impossible to get alongside "One Shot".

The easiest place to get both is any time you get 3 or more humans together. Kill them with e.g. a pipe bomb and immediately reload your previous save. Then DON'T kill them again. Save a few more times and continue the game. Later when you find 3 or more humans again, repeat by killing and then loading a previous save. Even if your achievement bar won't increase for killing humans and the game has not saved the humans dying, it counts towards the achievement. After killing the last few humans you need and getting the achievement, re-load a previous save once more and continue on without killing any yourself. I let dozens of humans get killed by the alien too, pretty much anyone that was in my way.
